consumers are using the incorrect sections to dispute, or are sending letter templates to dispute with the bureaus.
Remember – you are a regular consumer with real inaccuracies and issues on your credit file. You do not want to look
like a credit repair company! Make it simple.
EXAMPLES
Here’s an example of a bureau dispute where the non-credit card collection account is unknown:

I have no clue what this account is. Please remove it from my credit report and send me a new one showing it’s been
deleted.

Here’s an example of a bureau dispute where an account is showing late payments that are inaccurate:

I was really surprised to see these late payments reporting on my account. Please adjust accordingly and send me a new
credit report reflecting these changes.
I paid on time for May 2016 and July 2017. Please correct the account status and remove from the historical payment
data.
