TEACHING AND LEARNING PLAN DAILY YEAR 1 (WEEK ONE)

THEME: INQUIRY IN SCIENCES TOPIC: 1.0 SCIENTIFIC SKILLS
CONTENT STANDARD : 1.1 SCIENCE PROCESS SKILLS
LEARNING STANDARD: 1.1.1 Observe
1.1.2 Communicate
LEARNING OBJECTIVE: Pupils are able to :
1. State all the sense involved in making the observation on the phenomena that occur
2. Record information or ideas in suitable form and present it systematically
SUCCESS CRITERIA: 1. Pupils will be able to state 3 observations using the sense.
2. Pupils can tell about the model being built.
TEACHING ACTIVITIES : : Activity 1 1. The teacher rang the bell three times and take out a variety of foods for student observations in each group. (sugar, garam,
durian)
2. Pupils are asked to make observations on the variety of food and a bell was placed on the table.
3. Pupils will begin to observe the materials and apparatus provided by the teacher

: Activity 2 1.The teacher will play animal sound for the pupils to guess individually.
2.The pupls will record and mark the answer on the animal sounds observations table provided by the teacher.
3.Pupils discuss with the teacher about their answer.
: Activity 3 1.Each group will be given tools and materials. (cauliflower, grapes, toothpicks and a picture of a sheep)
2.Each group will observe the picture of the sheep.
3.They need to construct a model of a sheep using the material given.
4.Pupils need to talk about the model that has been construct.
5.Pupils compare the sheep model with the sheep in the pictre
LEARNING MATERIALS: Manila card, marker pen / Animal sound, portable speaker / cauliflower, grapes, toothpicks and a picture of
a sheep

LEARNING STANDARD: 1.2.1 Use and handle science apparatus and substances correctly
1.2.2 Handle specimens correctly and carefully
1.2.3 Sketche specimens, apparatus and science substances correctly
1.2.4 Clean science apparatus correctly
1.2.5 Store science apparatus and substances.
LEARNING OBJECTIVE: Pupils are able to :
1. Using, handling ,sketching, cleaning and storing the apparatus, science substances and specimens used in an activity with the correct method.
SUCCESS CRITERIA: 1. Pupils will be able to using, handling, sketching, cleaning and storing the apparatus, science substances and specimens used in an activity
with the correct method.
TEACHING ACTIVITIES : : Activity 1 1. The teacher shows a topy car of various colour.
2. Pupils need to make observations and share what they see when the teacher shows how the toys car works.

: Activity 2 1. Pupils are required to be in their own group.


2. Each group need to cut the onion into 2 part and make observations using a magnifying glass.
3. The result of observations of onions pattern for each group will be sketched on paper.
4. Pupils work will be pasted in the back of the classroom
: Activity 3 1. Pupils cleaning and storing the apparatus used in an activity with the correct method
