SOME DIFFICULTIES ENCOUNTERED BY SHS STUDENTS TAKING UP PRACTICAL RESEARCH

Chapter I

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

This study is all about the some difficulties encountered by SHS students taking up practical
research where lack of time management, resources, knowledge, materials, financial problem, other
duties, and many more are belongs to the common difficulties encountered by SHS students taking
up practical research. The setting of this research problem will be only performed inside the Gubat
National High School campus because there are a lot of student encounters difficulties on their
practical research. Researchers read a lot of related literatures about their research problem and
analyze it. This research problem will be performed seriously because it will help the students
minimize or at least lessen their problems cause they were guided and informed what problems they
might be encounter in taking practical research. The purpose of this study is to help students be
informed on the problems they may encounter in practical research and also to help them minimize
the pressure/difficulties they may encounter.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This study attempt to know the common difficulties encountered by SHS students taking up
practical research.

Specifically, this research seeks to answer the following questions:

1. What is the perception of the students in practical research?
2. What factors affect the students in this study expressing practical difficulties?
3. What are the problems student encountered in practical research?

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

This study would benefit the following :
Teachers: The result of the study will serve
them as guide basis and motivate
them on how to deal to the
student future researchers. The
findings of this study will also
keep great help to the future
researchers for them to have more
knowledge about the common
 difficulties of the students. This
will also serve as additional
information for the same issue.
Students: The students will have better
understanding about the common
difficulties encountered by SHS
students taking up practical
research. The students will also be
prepared about the possible
challenges in doing research.
SCOPE AND DELIMITATION
This study is focused only in some difficulties encountered by SHS students taking up practical
research in Gubat National High School. The student - respondents who will participate and
performed in this research problem are only the Grade 11 and 12 students firm General Academic
Strand (GAS). The opinions, perceptions, and limited answers to the following questions were
appreciated most by the researchers as long as it is part of the study.
