World Individuals Qualifier

Venue Date January or February 2011


Registration Adult Liaisons need to send in their registation forms to Eric Moberg at eric@hafs.hs.kr.
All registration forms are due by January 10th, 2011, so sign up soon.
The exact date and venue will be confirmed shortly.
Cost 50,000 won / student (cancellations are 70,000). All funds due at the event.
Competitors Note:
SCHEDULE World Individuals requires low
9:00-9:30 Registration preparation but high speaking ability and
varied skill sets.
9:30--9:50 Student Assembly Rounds 1 & 2: Speaking
9:30--9:50 Judge Orientation You must come with a prepared 5-minute
10:00-10:30 Round 1: Prepared Speeches speech--persuasive or humorous.
Rounds 3 & 4: Drama
10:40-11:10 Round 2: Prepared Speeches You must perform a prepared reading
11:20-11:50 Round 3: Drama (interpretation) with a script you bring.
12:00-12:30 *Coaches Meeting Rounds 5 & 6: Debate
Partnering is random and the debate is
12:00-12:30 Round 4: Drama impromptu. Each team may use one paper
12:30-12:40 Debate Announcement dictionary and one paper almanac--neither
12:40-1:40 Lunch with debate partner provided by host.
Round 7: Impromptu (Finals)
1:40-2:30 Round 5: Debate
Top speakers based on first six rounds
2:40-3:30 Round 6: Debate will give impromptu speeches.
3:40-4:20 FINALS: Impromptu
4:20-4:30 Awards Announced Coaches Note:
Coaches will meet during round three or
lunch. Top items for discussion: future
AWARDS Korea Forensics League events and
Best Speaker average of rounds 1 & 2 communication.
Best Actor average of rounds 3 & 4
Best Debater average of rounds 5 & 6 Judges Note:
Top 4 finalists Judges give written & oral feedback.

Alternates 5th & 6th place finalists 1-3 students = 1 judge, 4-6 = 2 judges,
School school average rounds 1-6 7-9 = 3 judges.

EVENTS at a glance
Oratory 4-6 minutes original speech, persuasive in nature. No notes.
After-Dinner 4-6 minutes original speech, humorous in nature. No notes.
Interp Reading 4-6 minutes dramatic reading. Little movement. Bring your script.
Debate Parliamentary impromptu 6-6-8-8-2-2 times. Almanac allowed.
Impromptu Random topic, 2 minutes prep, 3-5 minutes speaking. No notes.
