Domestic sewing machines

Basic sewing machines comprise machines that sew with a lock stitch and multi-
thread chain stitch. These are mainly intended for attaching garment
components that are not exposed to high amounts of loads during wear using a
lock stitch. Garment components that undergo higher load during wear require
basic sewing machines that utilise multi-thread chain stitch. Special sewing
machines are proposed for specific technological operations and they can be
categorized by
(i) function, such as machines for pocket piping, sewing zips, knitted
fabrics, etc. and
(ii) stitch class and types except 301 and 401 stitch types, with blind stitch,
zigzag stitch, for attaching pocket bags, etc.

Industrial sewing machine

Industrial sewing machines are designed and constructed in such a way that these
machines stand the test of time even after rigorous work done with it. Thus, the
built-in quality is given the top-most priority.

Also, these machines are capable of going through the hardest of fabrics without
creating a fuss or breaking down. To break that down in simple words, these
machines are more tough, advanced, and powerful than the regular domestic
sewing machines.
To top the quality of the construction of the machine, most of these machines are
equipped with several advanced features that give you the extra edge and options
while undertaking a project.

Industrial sewing machines are comparatively larger in sizes compared to the

domestic sewing machines. Because of the high-efficient features and strong
built-in quality, these machines are also on the costlier side of the price. That,
somehow, has a lasting effect on the price of the industrial machine.

There is a wide fleet of industrial machines available at the market. These

machines are mainly categorized into: -

 Post Bed Sewing Machines

 Flat Bed Sewing Machines
 Cylinder Bed Sewing Machines
 Free Arm Sewing Machines

These machines are different from each other because of its needle post
and the varied design of the arm. In most of the cases, the companies
use high-quality metals in the construction of these machines.

2. Blind chain stitch machine / chain stitch machine

The stitch produced by this machine in the fabric is not shown from face side and
so this is called blind stitch machine. Usually curved needle is used in this machine
as it can penetrate in the fabric partially. The needle comes out from the side of
the fabric through which it penetrated. Again, in maximum blind stitch machine
optional skip device is attested by which it is possible to penetrate the outside
layer after one or two stitch. The speed of this type of machine is up to 2500 SPM
and the stitch length can be 3 to 8 mm long. Usually one thread is used to make
the stitch but two threads may also be used. In case of two threads blind stitch, it
is safe from opening. Mainly for attaching hemming or facing this machine is used.
Blind stitch machine is one of the important sewing machines in garment factory
of making a complete garment. This type of machine cannot be used for normal
purpose. But for making a complete garment their importance cannot be denied.
Special care and sufficient knowledge is necessary for proper working. Otherwise
faulty sewing may be done.
