The project title is “A STUDY ON EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT AT


SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC IN BANGALORE”

NEED FOR THE STUDY:

An “engaged employee” is defined as one who is fully absorbed by and enthusiastic about their
work and so takes positive action to further the organizations reputations and interests. The study
is conducted on employee engagement at Schneider electric.

The overarching aim of this study is to attempt to find out what encourages employees to have a
passion for the job they do, which encourages them to display discretionary effort thus going the
extra mile to do their job to the very best of their ability. High employee engagement has been
linked to high levels of individual performance as well as increased organizational financial
performance.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This study helps us to known about the employee involvement at Schneider electric. It also helps
in studying the relationship between the managers and employees. There has been significant
interest in employee engagement, but this has been coupled with a good deal of
misunderstanding. This misunderstanding can be partly attributed to the fact that there is no
definitive definition.

From an HR perspective today, engagement continues to be an important consideration. Due to


the challenging economic climate, organizations now more than ever are deciding to restructure
and resize, which has resulted in organizations investigating new approaches to maintain and
increase engagement. Organizations fight to recruit and train their talent, so they need to do their
best to keep hold of it. Organizations need to strike the right balance between fostering and
enhancing employee engagement levels while at the same time not compromising their
competitive position.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY:

 To analyze the strategies adopted & practiced at Schneider electric regarding employee
engagement.
 To analyze the importance given to the employees at their work & their level of
satisfaction.
 To examine whether the employees are being satisfied with their current work.
 To examine the employee involvement in the organization.

SAMPLING:

Sampling is the process of selecting units (e.g., people, organizations) from a population of
interest so that by studying the sample we may fairly generalize.

1. Probability sampling- probability sampling is a technique where every element of


population as an equal chance of being selected.
2. Non-probability sampling- the element of the population do not have any equal chance of
being chance of selected sample.
Convenience sampling- For this project convenience sampling method is used. This
method relies on data collection from population members who are conveniently
available to participate in study.

SAMPLE SIZE

The sample size is an important feature of any empirical study in which the goal is to make
inferences about a population from a sample.

The sample size for this study is 100.

SOURCES OF DATA.
The study was conducted by making use of both primary and secondary data.

PRIMARY DATA:

The primary data will be collected from various employees working at Schneider electric
through a structured questionnaire, direct interview and personal observation.

SECONDARY DATA:

Secondary data is a data that is already available from various sources. In this research the
researcher gathered it from books, journals, company brochures and company website.

TOOLS FOR DATA COLLECTION

The research tool for data collection is structured questionnaire which consists of the closed
ended questionnaire as well as open ended questionnaire.

Questionnaire: It is a set of printed or written questions with a choice of answers, devised for
the purposes of a survey or statistical study.

PLAN OF ANALYSIS

The data obtained will be analyzed using analytical and logical reasoning to examine each
component of the data provided. Tables will be used to calculate the percentages. Excel will be
used to create graphs and charts. Pie chart, bar chart, cylinder chart & cone chart will be used for
analysis and interpretation of data.

CHAPTER-1: INTRODUCTION

This chapter gives the introduction about the industry of Schneider electric in India.

CHAPTER-2: REVIEW OF LITERATURE AND RESEARCH DESIGN

A literature review is a text of scholarly paper, which includes the correct knowledge including
substantive findings, as well as theoretical and methodological contribution to a particular topic.
Research design deals with statement of the problem, objectives, scope, operational definition of
the concept, research design, sampling, tools for collection of data, techniques of analysis and
limitations.

This chapter will give an overview of Schneider electric

CHAPTER-5: DATA ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION

This chapter gives a detailed knowledge about the analysis and second section collected through
questionnaire, discussion and observation.

CHAPTER-6: FINDINGS SUGGESIONS AND CONCLUTION:

This chapter includes the findings, suggestion and conclusion obtained through questionnaires,
company website etc.
