Situation

In October 2010, PM+M Chartered Accountants were planning a move to new premises
on Challenge Way, Blackburn (Lancashire). This move from Central Blackburn was
in itself a significant project for the firm who were moving offices to more mod
ern premises.
PM+M are one of the leading business advisory and accountancy firms in the North
West of England and has grown steadily through natural growth and mergers with
other firms to become a broad based provider of advice to businesses and individ
uals.
Due to their active participation in Praxity - a global alliance ofindependent f
irms, they are in a very strong position, enabling them toprovide services to th
e highest of international standards.
For PM+M communication is key, and a heavy reliance is put upon their IT infrast
ructure to deliver the highest standards for their clients and their own workfor
ce.
The move presented several challenges, not least of which, was remaining fully f
unctional for their clients. The move provided an ideal opportunity to improve t
heir IT data connection and review their telephony requirements.
PM+M had a 70 user Cisco phone system which was at capacity and did not provide
them with the features and functionality they required to move their business fo
rward. In addition to this they were limited by a 2Mb private circuit and 16 ISD
N lines.
Solution
After meeting with Tpad and their solutions design team for a full communication
s review and audit, PM+M opted for the latest in IP telephone systems with integ
ration to their in house CRM platform and door entry system. The Tpad solution o
ffered technical compatibility aswell as attractive and commercial relationship.
The communications review and audit highlighted where PM+M were currently spendi
ng money, identified system inefficiencies and also provided the future plan for
PM+M, taking into account the shape of what future success would look like for
them.
After this review was conducted, a series of recommendations were presented to P
M+M and they chose a Hosted Platform solution. This platform will ultimately ser
vice PM+M's second site in Burnley and also allows Home Workers / Field Workers
to access the phone system remotely, with simple logins and security permissions
.
Commercially, the whole solution Tpad recommended was within budget and delivere
d an increased capacity of data services, which is not normally experienced at o
ur new location. Based on the projected savings on calls and line rental alone,
PM+M is expecting a return on investment within 12 to 18 months from the date of
installation.
