TO THE HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER

I am writing in response to the job advert posting for the position Client communication
specialist/ legal assistant.

In response to the qualification outlined, I feel like I have most if not all the attributes outlined. I
have worked in nearly all sectors of commerce, both finance and law and not forgetting
customer service. I am a fast learner this has contributed to me being able to morph into
various organizational structures, with the utilization of the skills I learnt throughout my
education.

With my finance degree, I was accorded the opportunity to work for the biggest geothermal
company in East Africa as a finance clerk I was able to understand the importance of financial
well-being of a company and the structures needed for its stability. I learned that this can only
be achieved when there is emphasis on the protection of external shareholders, these are not
only the investors, but the consumers you and me. While working at KENGEN I first
encountered the importance of being detailed oriented at every step of the process. My
everyday workload consisted of the tabulation and manipulation of the company’s portfolio of
Assets which included calculation on depreciation, wear and tear. In tabulating all this, I was
able learn and use various application software such as Microsoft office application mostly excel
in great depth, not excluding SAP and Quick books.

While working at KENGEN I sort the need to further my education. I am naturally a very
inquisitive person, and this has contributed to my personality and the ability to learn more in a
short span of time. Because of this factor I was able to join one of the best law schools in Kenya
on a partial scholarship. I navigated through law school fulltime coupled with the fact that I was
a mummy to a 6-year-old feisty and sweet little boy. Being a parent at young age gave me the
tenacity to do better at everything this has helped and contributed to my work ethic. This has
also contributed to my ability to multitask, utilize, and most importantly apply information
when and where needed.

During my law school years, I was exposed to the different aspects of the law much of which
the underlining theme is the need to uphold not only the rule of law but also the recognition
and application of human rights. I was given the opportunity to work for one of the best
advocates/ attorneys, in the country in so doing I learnt and eventually utilized various skills. I
learnt as funny as it may seem patients and composure especially dealing with Elderly and
probate law when it came to the execution of intestate and testate wills. I learnt how to listen
and specifically to the determining factors, to differentiate from legal issues and non-legal
issues the sympathetic issues so to speak. I have also come to understand and apply the belief
that the law is every changing and I do need to utilize various organizational techniques and
cultures that I am not accustomed to, this is am eagerly anticipating in joining your team.

While working as a night audit, at the Seattle Marriott Bellevue Hotel, I have learnt how to deal
with various people not only as our guest but also learning the different personalities and
situational requirements that they would need. I utilized my listening skills and attentiveness to
navigate through the different situations. I was able to respond to different ques and respond
to queries which I eventually fixed, that contributed to satisfaction of the guests. As a night
audit, I was charged with playing the manager at night. In so doing I oversaw the entire 375
rooms and the various assets of the hotel including large amounts of fixed and tangible assets.
This required a high level of independency and reediness for eventualities, and preparedness
for various emergency overall.
In considering this application for the client communication specialty/legal assistant I have
demonstrated the various qualification that you are looking for employment. I have also
outlined a little bit of myself and my education background and the skills I have learnt both
professionally and otherwise. I believe I am well suited for this position I meet all and additional
requirements and more. I am well suited for this position because I have a wider perspective on
human rights and, its importance. In the past I have conducted various research conspicuously
on the decriminalization of prostitution and its contribution to commerce and taxation. Mostly
as an additional source of revenue and not forgetting the upholding of women’s rights as
human rights when it comes to discrimination, access to health care and various basic
resources.
I am well suited because I have a wide perspective of business and consumer rights, and
cooperate law which the firm has predominantly mastered in. I am motivated by the fact that
you promote from within this I am eagerly looking forward to. As a side note, I do know that I
do not have legal experience in the American legal atmosphere, but I am an eager and advent
learn ready to utilize whatever skills taught. It would be nice to have me work with you since I
have a different approach and perspective from a different legal system in the applying case
management. I am eagerly waiting for your response, as far as the hourly pay is concerned
Seattle is an expensive city, 22 dollars an hour would be worth my while, however I am open to
a negotiation, commensurate on experience and good judgement.
