HomeAid Began in Orange County

• Pilot project renovation of Irvine Farmhouses for Families Forward in 1988


• Founded by Orange County Chapter of the Building Industry Association of
Southern California (BIAOC) in June 1989

The Process

Non-profit social service providers that need to increase their physical


capacity to provide aid and shelter for homeless families and
individuals request support.
Prerequisites:

•excellent track record of serving homeless


men, women and children

• comprehensive program of education,


training, and counseling to assist its residents
to achieve self-sufficiency and re-enter into
mainstream society

• demonstrate past and future community and


political support

• strong operational funding to ensure the


viability of facility into the future

Essentials for Young Lives

Mothers and children are the fastest growing


segment of the homeless population.
They need our help.
From 2008 to 2010 more than 100
companies/organizations collected 536,653
essential baby items that were distributed to 16
non-profit agencies benefiting homeless families.

How: Conduct a drive at your company/organization
OR be a community “Essentials” drop location.

Essentials Needed:
•Diapers (sizes newborn to toddler)
•Baby wipes
•Baby food
•Baby products (wash, lotion, etc.)
20th Annual Project Playhouse®
Irvine Spectrum Center® at Giant Wheel Court
Opens September 10, 2011
