CABLE CHARACTERISTICS

WIRELINE WORKS CABLE

1. Standard cables are armored with galvanized improved plow steel wire, with a tensile strength
of 270 to 300 kpsi.

2. Special cables operating in a corrosion environment can be armored with a variety of special
armor materials, including MP-35N, Nickel Stainless (NS) and Enhanced Nickel Stainless (S77).

3. No butt welds are allowed in the final wire drawing process.

4. No butt welds are allowed in the outer armor of a cable.

5. All armor wires are preformed using a bi-stage process.

6. Special blocking material is applied between armor layers.

7. The cable armor is coated with a protective corrosion inhibitor.

8. All electrical conductors are water blocked.

9. No insulated electrical conductor splices are allowed.

10. No repairs to the electrical conductor insulation is allowed if the copper conductor is exposed.

11. Electrical conductor resistance and insulation is corrected to 20° C / 68° F.

12. All finished cables must pass a rigorous electrical and mechanical inspection and testing.

13. A copy of the final inspection report is supplied with each cable.

14. ISO 9001
