calamities and that is drawing worldwide attention for our country.
3. Negative thinking: Shun away any negative thoughts of despair and hopelessness. It is okay to mourn
for a while, but not forever!
If yes, how does it feel to be a fan? Describe this feeling in five words.
They’re part of my inspiration.
Ever since I was a child I always wanted to become a princess. Living in a castle, wearing fancy dresses,
eating full course meal and placing a tiara on my head would be a dream come true. I was a fan of Disney’s
Cinderella not until I watched the live adaptation of Aladdin last May 24, 2019. Jasmine’s story as a princess
changed my perspective. She did ruin my fantasies at first, but from what I came to realize. That princesses are
not always what we think they really are. With that, I made a piece of what I expect Jasmine feels being the
daughter of a Sultan.
In the city of Agrabah near Jordan River, there lies a princess who's in prisoned by the power of laws
governed by the Sultan–her father. Grew up with her pet tiger and lives within the vicinity of the Palace,
unaware of the life behind the walls that one day, she'll never believe.
“How dare you – all of you! Standing around deciding my future. ” – Jasmine
Sick by the rules and laws of the sultans to maintain the overwhelming name and reign, she decided to
escape the palace and see what's beyond those high walls, the reality that's been kept for years. The secrecy of
life behind those thick high walls making cleave between the royalties and civilians.
“The law is wrong.” – Jasmine
Upon seeing the life beyond the walls, her principals were varied into something that's not favourable of the
Sultan's sovereignty. Bestowed the title she has now, it became an instrument for her to fight and be the next
Sultan. Imagining a new epoch and making Agrabah be the best in extent what it has now.
“No, I won’t be silenced. You can’t keep me quiet. All I know is I won’t go speechless.” – Jasmine
Regardless of the Sultan's decision to let Jafar–the royal vizier–marry the Princess. Opposite to her beliefs, for
she wanted a real and true love. She went in berserk and made diverge between the old rules and bespeak; “I
choose you, Aladdin.”
“Not this princess. I am not a prize to be won! If I do marry, I want it to be for love.” – Jasmine
Being a feisty woman with oozing confidence, she broke the folklore of Agrabah. Letting the Sultan realize the
epistle of promises and love. The new era is coming and her wishes to come true: “It's all so magical.” In
dreamy eyes, she was caught in a daze.
The princess was the pivotal to enforce a revolution and new beginning and the name of the princess was–“I
am Princess Jasmine of Agrabah.”
In this piece, I realized that not all princesses wanted to be a princess. Jasmine didn’t have her freedom
at all, instead she’s locked up in the castle because the Sultan’s afraid since her mother was killed. Jasmine is a
brave woman and she’s a type of a person who’s independent, fiery beauty capable of taking care of herself.
She’s a very well defined character and through Jasmin’s story I can see myself when I was young. Somehow, I
can relate on what she feels and that made me look up on her and made her as my princess role model.
