SETTING UP A GAMING AREA

Running demos and intros is straightforward using materials we provide (check out
the Running Demo’s & Intro Activities Guide). In this guide we look at a different
proposition – permanent gaming areas.

You can get almost everything you need for a cool display with your Marketing Support
budget, but you may need to coax an experienced modeller and painter (perhaps one of
your current customers) to help get them ready.

Ultimately, you’re trying to create a place your customers can use to play games with
their Citadel miniatures, which then becomes a social hub for your local Warhammer
community. Some nice terrain and scenery kits over an appropriate base, built on a stable
surface, will do the trick.

Exactly what gaming aids you decide to provide is entirely your choice. Items such as tape
measures, dice and counters are all needed to play the games. You could leave these
accessories on the table all the time (you may have to keep a close eye on them), provide
the supplies when someone asks, or let the customers know they should bring their own if
they wish to use the table.

There are two primary Warhammer universes, and you’ll want to decide whether you want the table
to be used for Warhammer 40,000 and Kill Team, or games set in the Warhammer Age of Sigmar
universe. We’d suggest setting up one of each, but that depends on how much room you have to
work with.

If the table is intended for Warhammer 40,000, choose some of the following boxes to create
a table similar to this one:

Realm of Battle: Sector Imperialis Imperial Sector Aegis Defence Line

Honoured Imperium
Quake Craters

For Warhammer Age of Sigmar tables, try these instead:

Realm of Battle: Shattered Dominion Azyrite Townscape

Citadel Wood Azyrite Ruins

Warhammer Underworlds and other

boxed games:

Boxed board games can be played on just

about any standard table, and don’t require
much in the way of accessories. Setting out
the contents of the Warhammer Under-
worlds core set is a great way to indicate
what this area is intended to be used for, and
give people another fast and furious game to
try out in your store.
