To express an opinion which we are very certain “I’m sure that…”

Giving a neutral opinion “I think…”
To express a cautious or reluctant opinion when “I feel that…”

Giving a subjective opinion “In my experience…”

To express an opinion based ONLY on our own “I don’t know about other people, but I can

Giving a general point of view “It is thought that…”

To express an objective opinion, based on “Some people say that…”
research or what we have heard or read. In this “It is considered…”
way, we distance ourselves from the opinion to “It is generally accepted that…”
show that maybe it’s not what we personally “The research seems to suggest…”
believe. “Apparently…”
