Subject: Google Cloud Print™ (GCP) Configuration

This Tech Tip is intended as a “quick” reference for setting up Google Cloud Print. For detailed instructions,
please refer to the Users Operation Manual.

In order to print to the Sharp MFP devices listed above using Google Cloud Print, the following will be
required:

1. Google account.
2 Adobe PS - this comes standard for some models.
3. Internet access (including Proxy details if required). Gateway and DNS services must be set up and
working

PROCEDURE:

1. Open the MFP device webpage and navigate to System Settings – Network Settings
menu, then select Google Cloud Print Settings.

2. Enable Google Cloud Print, then click Execute to Register the MFP device with Google
Cloud Print.
Note: If you wish to always retain Prints, check/enable the Always Retain Prints option.

3. Click OK when the Registering with Google Cloud Print Continue? window appears.

4. The Registration URL and QR Code for the specific MFP should now be displayed (as
shown).

5. Launch the Registration URL using a Web Browser or Scan the QR Code with your
mobile device to complete the registration process.
Note:
There is a time limit to the registration process. (Approx. 10-15 mins.) Proceed to the
next step within this time to complete the registration. If registration is not successful,
return to step 3 and register again.

6. When the Google account login screen is displayed, enter your Google account
information, select Sign In and perform the authentication process following the on-
screen instructions.

7. Select Finish Printer Registration when prompted.

8. When the authentication process is complete, the registration details and status will be
displayed within the Google Cloud Print Settings of the MFP device webpage – click
Update and ensure the status has changed to Registered.

Note:
To de-register/remove the Sharp MFP device from Google Cloud Print, click the Delete
from Google Cloud Print Execute button.

Google Cloud Print Test via Web Browser:

1. Open Cloud Print and Sign in using your Google account credentials. 
https://www.google.com/cloudprint/ 
The registered Sharp MFP should be listed (as indicated below). 
 

2. Select PRINT, then Upload file to print.

3. Navigate/Browse for a file by clicking Select a file from my computer.

4. Select the required Sharp MFP device (example shown: MX-3050N) and press Print.

5. Configure the required output parameters and select PRINT.

6. Google Cloud Print will create and add/send the print job to the registered Sharp MFP
device.

Note:
When user authentication is ON (Enabled), this print data will be deleted by the MFP. In
such case, enable Allow printing from invalid user within the MFP device
webpage settings (User Control).
