Part 1: transcription

Hi guys! Happy New Year! This Christmas tree is giving our video the vibe of the holiday season, and I
hope you're having a wonderful year so far. So this topic is quite requested one, and it the problems that
non-native English speakers face, and although when it comes to me, I'd like to focus on similarities,
between my native Russian and other languages that I learn, such as French, German, and English.
However in this one, I would like to emphasize on the things that are difficult to grasp for non-English
speakers.

Part 2: pronunciation

Vowels have been shortened or limited.

giving /given/ i: pronounced I

focus /fucus/ əʊ pronounced ˄

emphasize /enphasize/ m pronounced n

Intonation: When she says “Happy New Year!” she stresses the year, which is incorrect. When she says
“Hi guys!” she uses a downward inflection when she says guys, should not go down when she’s greeting
people enthusiastically.

Part 3: syntax

non-native English speakers face. And although when it comes to me, I'd like to focus on similarities,
between my native Russian and other languages that I learn, such as French, German, and English.
However in this one, I would like to emphasize on the things that are difficult to grasp for non-English
speakers. “

“So this topic is quite requested one” should be “is often requested” or “quite requested”

“and it the problems” should be “and covers the problems that non-English speakers face”

“I’d like to focus” should be “I like to focus”

“between my native Russian and other languages that I learn” should be “between my native language,
Russian, and other languages that I’m learning”, It think it may be acceptable to say my native Russian,
but can be confused with a person or a thing as a native Russian.

She didn’t use any past tense, so for “the problems that non-native English speakers face” can be said as
“some difficulties that students have had”

“Although when it comes to me” tells us that there is another statement is coming to contrast the
current statement, then there is “however in this one”. You supposed to use one or the other, not both.
