PSALMS 40:3
“He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put
their trust in Him.”
UNDERSTANDING AND DEVOTION:
We have heard songs of various genres, styles and singers already, and there are a lot of them in this
world. Songs about pain, misery, troubles, heartaches, disappointments, failures, imperfections and the
list could go on endlessly. Some of them have even become an anthem of our cluttered lives.
Unconsciously, we might have been putting these songs in the stereo on repeat. That is probably why we
can’t seem to hear the voice of God, because we were singing along the crowd rejecting God’s call. The
songs that we have been hearing in this world are not the sound that we need to hear. Those are the
enemy’s tone written in lyrics about our dark pasts using them against us, keeping us from singing songs
of praises and blessings.
How can we filter these voices or if possible, completely block them out? Simple. Let us open our Bible
and fill ourselves with God’s promises and words. Through it, we will be able to hear His voice clearer
and learn a new song void of the enemy’s whisper of lies and judgments. Through the scriptures Jesus is
revealed and in Him we are made new. We are not our mistakes, we are not our past, we are His children
whom He redeemed on the cross. Thus, what songs are there for us to sing, but verses of praise and
worship? The whole duty of man is to keep God’s commandments and do what is pleasing for His eyes.
Therefore, let us burn the tapes the enemy had made us sing in the past for God will put a new hymn in
our mouths and through it blessings will come out. Let us remind ourselves that we are no longer follower
of the world but of Christ and all the glory belongs to Him and Him alone. He made these lips not to
blowout curses and be use as instrument of the enemy but to extol and revere Jesus, our savior and
redeemer. Our guilt in the past and our burdens have already been crucified along with Christ in the cross.
Every waking day is a new beginning, a fresh jumpstart to do better for God.
PRAYER
You are perfect in all of your ways Lord. Your will is better than my plans, so I submit to you all that I
have scheduled to fulfill, please be free to revise it according to what pleases you. Lord, I am at the
beginning of my journey to get closer to you, and just like any journey, I know it won’t be smooth. Please
strengthen me to work heartily and obediently despite all the challenges I have to go through. Help me
sing praises to you still even in times of tribulation and trials. Help me see your hand in any situation I’m
going to be in. Strengthen my heart to be consistent in doing what is right in your eyes. Direct my feet and
made them stand firm in your commandments. And Lord, cleanse my mind with your Holy spirit that
whatever the devil may plot will not penetrate. Help me rebuke them in your name that I will not fall
again into temptation and sin. Forgive me for all the times I have been singing the song in this world, I am
sorry if I am very hard to teach and have been doubting your presence in my life. Sorry for having been
distant to you for a very long time. May this new song you have put in my lips be sung forever in
faithfulness and compassion. Thank you for finding me deserving to be loved and saved to the point of
dying on the cross and overcoming the grave. You are my hope in this world, and my comfort in all
confusions. Thank you for everything. Amen.

Ezekiel 11:19-20
“I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them: I will remove from them their heart of
stone and put a new spirit in them a heart of flesh. Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to
keep my laws. They will be my people and I will be their God.”

UNDERSTANDING AND DEVOTION

We are living in a world filled with fear, desolation, unacceptance, sins and all other influences that will
keep our eyes blind from seeing the presence of God. However, despite our dark history of unfaithfulness
and wickedness God still wakes us up with new chances and beginnings for us to recognize His majesty
as creator of the Heavens and the earth. This just proves that God sees us more than our dark past and the
sins we have committed. His hands are generously extended waiting for us to reach out 24/7. There may
be times when it feels like we are speaking to no one and that miracles seemed imaginary, He is there
watching over us closely. I think the reason why we are tested and tried is for us to realize that we are not
alone and our battles are His, reminding us that in the middle of all the negativities and hopelessness there
is a God waiting to be called in prayer.
In the world full of the enemy’s lie, let us stand firm in God’s word and be renewed in His presence. He is
the God of countless chances and He looks at us with favor and love. As we sail closer to the Shore of His
paradise, let us ask for His Holy Spirit to fill us with spiritual strength to surmount the storms summoned
by the devil to drown us. And being able to stay under His presence through any circumstances, He will
surely put in us a heart whole and beating only to bring Him glory. Let us not be ashamed to fall on our
knees and ask God to remove our hearts filled with earthly cravings and replace it with eternal and lasting
desires. Let us open our hearts so He can come in and cleanse it with His love that everything it will long
for will all be to offer Him praises. If we have fixed our hearts to God, only then we will all be able to
obey His words and submit fully to His commandments.

Prayer:
Lord, You are amazing and perfect, worthy to be praised and adored. I humbly come to your presence,
please remove my heart and cleanse it with your holiness. Help be able to face faithfully the struggles and
difficulties in seeking intimacy with you. Let not my feet trample and fall on the enemy’s den. Surround
me with your Love that I will also be able to reflect it to the people around me. Please lead my path
according to what delights you and grant me wisdom to obey your commands and laws set before us.
Help me grow in faith as I walk with You in this Journey. Thank you for giving us a savior and redeemer
in the presence of Jesus. In Him, I am saved and accepted. When He return in glory, I hope I’ll be able to
hug Him tight and thank Him personally for sharing His victory with us when He died for our sins even
though we are so undeserving. I will continue to get closer to you only through Him. Forgive me for all
the delays, disobedience, and all my faulty pieces. Help me remove in my mind all impure thoughts and
help me focus in your blessings. Remind me always that I am living as your believer and not of myself
and of this world. You are all I have for permanent in this ever changing world. I hope to feel and see
your presence every day. Thank you so much for all that I have. Let not the enemy plant in me seeds of
sins and impurities, help me rebuke them in your name. Don’t let them snatch me away from you. Amen.

Matthew 26 – 27:29
“Then He took a cup and, when He had given thanks, He gave it to them saying, “Drink from it all of
you”. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of the sins. I tell
you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in
my father’s kingdom.”

UNDERSTANDING AND DEVOTION

Making mistakes is part of our nature as humans that is why perfection is non-existing in this messy
world. We could fail and stumble just anytime which emphasizes our dire need of guidance from God. He
recognizes our weak points but he highlighted our strengths, He knows exactly all our impurities but He
sees us deserving of Salvation and even though we stray away from His commands, His arms are open
forever for our repentance. Through His provisions we were filled and satisfied.
Imagine, there are a lot of beverages in the world, expensive and well fermented but none of them can
satisfy our thirst for chances and forgiveness. Only Jesus can. Matthew 26: 27 “Then He took a cup
and, when He had given thanks, He gave it to them saying, “Drink from it all of you”. This is my
blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of the sins. How endearing it
is to know that we sinners are invited to drink from His cup and to never suffer from thirst again. The
liquid from His cup was a therapy for us to be spiritually cleansed. It was a symbol of His promise to us
which was fulfilled when He was crucified in the cross. It was the most valiant representation of Love,
that Jesus died for us and pour from His cup the greatest sacrifice just to share heaven with us. And on
Matthew 26: 29 Jesus said “I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until
that day when I drink it new with you in my father’s kingdom.” This shows how special we are in
God’s sight that He wholly allot the cup He had drink with us to be consumed again when we join in His
party in Heaven, when all of us gather together forgiven and accepted.
With all our sins, imperfections, flaws and faulty pieces summed up together, God’s love would be a
billion times bigger. You might have not recognized it yet but He’s waiting for you reach out for His
hands and walk with Him. And we are summoned to come Home, we will all shout “cheers” to Him as
we drink from the cup of His promises.
PRAYER
Lord, thank you so much for the wisdom you have given to me. Help me recognize your presence in my
life. Correct or rebuke me in my mistakes. Cleanse my heart and mind according to your will for me.
Forgive me for all the things I have done wrong. And Thank you so much for giving us Jesus to save us
from sins. His death and resurrection proves Your great Love to us. Direct my steps so it will lead me
closer to you each waking day. All the Glory is yours amen.

ISAIAH 67:17
“See, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered nor will they
come to mind.”
UNDERSTANDING AND DEVOTION
In due time, Jesus will return and His majesty will be revealed to the world once again. All of us are in
the line waiting for His arrival. So as we live here on earth, our days are numbered and limited. We were
but only transient tenant of this world. Probably, the reason why Jesus’ second coming is kept as a
mystery because He wants us to live everyday preparing for it. Our salvation is not through our work, but
a gift of God to us through Jesus. His death was the ultimate representation of God’s love and favor that
He even wills His son to be a ransom for our sins for us to access eternal happiness with Him.
Therefore, let us be of good courage to follow and seek God’s presence into our lives. We must stop
looking through the mirrors of our past because we cannot redo or correct them, focus on the present and
what is yet to come and pledge that this time we will walk with God on the path he had laid before us.
Though the road might be thorny and challenging we can put our heart in confidence that we will not
stumble or fall and if we do, Jesus will help us up and carry us through. We do not have forever to be lazy
in recognizing Jesus and what He has done for us. Every moment counts for we are here for a very short
time only.
Have we not realized, we have spent so much time regretting on our past deficiencies thinking of what
could have been; when we have all the myriad of chances to be better and start anew with God’s
guidance?
The bottomline would always leads to a conclusion that no matter how hard we try we won’t still be
perfect, and that’s okay. God does not want us perfect anyway because if we are, would we still ask for
His help? Would we still kneel and pray? If we can do everything perfectly would we still need Him? No!
Our insufficiencies are made impeccable for Him to supplement. What we lack is left for us to request
Him for provision. What we don’t understand is for us to ask Him in prayer for Wisdom. Our weakness is
made for us to plead Him for strength. Everything we cannot do are opportunities for Him to
miraculously show His involvements in our lives.
Stop focusing on what might and could have been. Let us fix our eyes on the perfection of Jesus by
following His commands that we may found favor in His eyes to enter the New heavens and earth that He
will create after all these are over. Our journey begins the moment we decide to follow Jesus, so let us not
dwell on our past for it was said in Isaiah 67:17 “See, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The
former things will not be remembered nor will they come to mind.” And there it was claimed! The
past is gone already so, with a renewed spirit let us fill our hearts and mind with hope and unwavering
faith to our future in Christ.
Prayer:
Awesome and ever merciful father. I return to you tonight in surrender of all my mistakes and my
shortcomings. Thank you for guiding me today with Love and compassion. Jesus, I have seen your hands
work today, you have wake me with a new chance and you filled my thoughts of Your wisdom, you
showed me the things that I needed to see and reminded me always to be kind. Today was amazing Jesus,
I have been able to speak less and think first before saying something. Lord, this is already an
achievement for me, and all was done to glorify Your Holy name. Thank you so much for giving us Jesus
to save us from our sins and was resurrected from death to open the gates of heavens for us. Your love is
indeed radical and always comforting. Forgive me Lord for all the sins I have made and the things I have
done that made you sad. Help me be consistent in submitting myself to you in adoration and in worship.
Jesus, fill me with your Holy Spirit and manipulate me to work according to what pleases you. Use me as
an instrument in whatever undertaking that would glorify God’s name. You are forever perfect and
amazing. When you come in glory I hope You’ll remember my name. Amen.
