LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH 10

I. OBJECTIVES:
a. Explain the relationship between friendship and respect.
b. Express appreciation for sensory images used through accomplishing the graphic organizers.
c. Appreciate the importance of knowing and respecting differences of one another by sharing
one’s experience.

II. SUBJECT MATTER:


Topic: The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery (EN10LT-IVa-2.2.1)
Reference: English 10 Learner’s Material: Celebrating Diversity through World Literature, pp. 410-
415 and https://www.bedtimestory.tv
Materials: laptop, projector, speaker, Power Point presentation, visual aids, clicker
Concept: Knowing and respecting the differences of one another can be a bridge to a friendship
regardless of who or what you are.

2. Author’s Background
Antoine De Saint-Exupery (1900-1944)
-a French writer and an aviator
-was born in Lyon and was educated at the University of Fribourg
-joined the French Air Force in 1921 and became a commercial pilot in 1926
-his first two books, Southern Mail (1929) and Night Flight (1931) were about the
romance and the discipline of flying
-his books, Wind, Sand and Stars (1939) and Flight to Arras (1942) stressed his
humanistic philosophy
-his popular children’s book, The Little Prince (1943), is now also read by adults for its
allegorical meaning

IV. ASSIGNMENT: Short Narrative Essay (Short Bond Paper - Arial 11, Single-Space)
Making friends is an exciting experience. Recall your own unforgettable experience in
acquiring a friend. Write a brief narration about it. Focus on the following questions:
a. Why is it unforgettable?
b. Who is that friend?
c. What did you learn from such friendship?
d. Do you think your friendship is true and lasting? Why or why not?

B. Appreciate the importance of building strong and genuine relationship with others through
citing personal experience or real-life situations.
II. SUBJECT MATTER:
Topic: The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery (EN10VC-IVa-15)
