ADMISSION TO Ph.D./M.Phil./M.S. RESEARCH PROGRAM – 2015

Instructions to the Candidates

Procedure to be followed by the candidates qualified in the written test/NET/SLET to

finalise the list of eligible candidates for interview :

 In continuation to the University notification dt.30.03.2015 for external Ph.D/ M.S./ M.Phil
admissions -2015, Ph.D.(Full Time) under TEQIP-II and Project Assistants all applied and
qualified candidates in written test/NET/SLET are required to download the formats of
supervisor/co-supervisor acceptance letters and abstract from the University web site
www.jntuh.ac.in

 The list of eligible supervisor and co-supervisor from the University Constituent Colleges/Units
faculty wise and subject wise are displayed in the website for the convenience of the
candidates.

 Candidates can approach any one of the eligible listed faculty members concerned to their Ph.D.
area and can get their acceptance letter in the prescribed format on the letterhead of the
accepting supervisor/ co-supervisor and also enclose the bio-data of supervisor/ co-supervisor
along with their recent publications.

 If the candidate chooses the supervisor or co-supervisor from outside the JNTUH, the accepting
outside supervisor or co-supervisor must full fill the following criteria.
 o A Supervisor or Co-supervisor should have a Ph.D. degree from a reputed University
having a minimum of five years of research experience, out of which, at least two years
after acquiring the Ph.D. degree.
o A supervisor is permitted to guide, at any given point of time, a maximum of Eight(8)
Scholars for a single guidance (External or Full Time) and Eight (8) additional scholars for
joint guidance (External or Full Time scholars).

o Outside supervisor /co-supervisor must be from any one of the following alternatives:
working in Affiliated colleges and ratified by JNTUH /JNTUH recognized research
centres/ other Govt. Universities or Deemed Universities recognized by UGC/ Retired
faculty members from all recognized Universities upto 70years of age / AICTE or UGC
recognized Institutions or National Institutions like IITs, NITs, IIMs etc.

 If the candidate chooses the supervisor from outside of JNTUH he/she must choose the co-
supervisor from the eligible list of JNTUH Constituent Colleges/Units.

 The candidate is required to prepare and submit one/two pages (neatly typed) of abstract about
their proposed area of research with available facilities at their work place duly signed by the
candidate and supervisor/co-supervisor.

In addition to above Supervisor/Co-Supervisor acceptance letters and Abstract, the candidates are
also required to submit the copies of the following documents.

i) All the candidates are essentially required to submit UG & PG consolidated marks memos.

ii) All the candidates are required to submit copies of their publications (Journals /
Conferences) if any.

iii) Candidates who are qualified NET/SLET/SET are required to produce the % of marks
obtained in NET/SLET/SET which is essential for evaluation.

iv) Candidates belong to SC/ST category are essentially required to submit photo copies of
caste certificates.

All the above mentioned documents are to be submitted to Director, Admissions,

JNTUH, Hyderabad on or before 25.01.2016 in person or by post for further processing.
