Why Euthanasia Should Be Legalized?

Euthanasia is the death killing of humans suffering from an incurable illness. Lately, there was a
massive controversy as to whether or not euthanasia would be allowed. Furthermore, euthanasia is
voluntary, so it should be legalized 5?
First of all, euthanasia is saving funds and time. The amount of money spent on health care in each
country will be reduced. However, we use the money and energy to prolong the life of people who
have an incurable illness rather than saving curable patient’s diseases. When we put to death those
patients who are calling for euthanasia, the waiting list for each hospital will be shortened.
Second, for many people, quality of life is more important than the duration of time. Patients who
call for euthanasia are experiencing intense suffering. The observer feels it's easier to live, but the
sick person himself sees death as a means of bringing an end to their unbearable suffering. Thus, it
is only a matter of time before these patients die of illness, and it makes no reason to push them to
stay longer for suffering.
Third, sufferers have the right to control their bodies. While the physician is the one that kills the
victim in the course of mercy killing, the sufferer becomes the one that wants to be "dead”. Thus,
euthanasia is a form of physician-assisted death and is not the business of any other individual.
In conclusion, I endorse the concept of legalizing euthanasia because the patients have the free
right to control their bodies. Therefore, it’s a humane option to authorize people who are suffering
decide to relieve their misery.
