Assessing the Level of Difficulties among Senior High School Students in

Online Learning Integration in Education using Flip Classroom

Rationale

Nowadays, students live and work in a world that is rapidly changing

particularly in terms of technology. Schools have a responsibility to instil to the

students the skills and knowledge on how to use technology effectively and

responsibly. Just like the technology has changed, it is now changing the

learning and teaching environment.

A broad range of learning approaches already exist, like e-learning,

blended learning (Maier, 2007), and distance learning that utilize information

and communication technology (ICT), that benefited the students who are living

in rural areas. These learning approaches were already used by the millennial.

Flip classroom is associated of both student-centered pedagogy and the

use of media and technology to give an engaging and effective learning

environment for the students. Recent study also reveals that a flip classroom

instructional model has a positive impact to the learning of students (Albert

and Beatty, 2014). With the introduction of computer and internet today,

students can study at home or at work – whenever you like, wherever you like

through the integration of online learning within a prescribed time frame. It

allows students to contrast the pace of learning according to the capabilities of

individual. Aside from the knowledge they gain through the use of traditional

teaching, online learning allows for easier access to online resources, for
example, the students have difficulties in understanding the given task they

can immediate access solutions or answers through online.

This study sought to assess the difficulties among senior high

school students in online learning integration in education using flip

classroom; does online learning help the students enhance or improve their

grades (academic performance) ,values, and skills. Does the profile of

respondents influence the usage, and acceptance of the technology? Lastly,

what are the behavioral factors of the respondents in system Integration and

learning?
Objectives of the study

This study generally aims to assess the level of difficulties among SHSS

in online learning integration in education using Flip classroom and specifically

to:

1. To determine the academic performance of the respondents in the

integration of Online Learning tool for education.

2. To determine the significant relationship of the profile of the respondents

in terms of the following learning factors:

a. Acceptability of Online Learning

b. Availability and sustainability of technologies used;

3. To determine the behavioral factors of the respondents in system

Integration and learning.

Scope and Delimitation of the Study

This project focuses only to the assessment of the level of difficulties

among SHSS in online learning integration in education using Flip classroom.
