Recommended Polymers:
2/4
Polyolefins (PP, PE)

Dosage The recommended loading level for LDPE blown film is 0.1 - 0.3% and for LLDPE film 0.2 -
0.4%. Testing is always recommended to define the optimum loading level for each application
and composition.

Impact on Low relative humidity or a lamination process can reduce the antifogging and antistatic per-
performance formance. The presence of other functional agents on the surface of the polyolefin can affect
antifogging and antistatic performance. Testing is recommended to adjust the optimal benefits
of properties for final products and applications.

Guidelines for use The product should be incorporated into the polymer matrix via a masterbatch or by direct addi-
tion at the resin manufacturer. The low content of the additive in plastic articles and packaging
makes it difficult to dose directly to plastic articles and packaging.

Antifogging Description Performance Rating Comments

performance An opaque layer of small fog droplets Very poor 1 Poor light transmission

An opaque or transparent layer of large droplets Poor 2 Poor light transmission

A complete layer of large transparent drops Better 3 Poor visibility, lens effect

Randomly scattered or large transparent drops Acceptable 4 Discontinuous film of water

A transparent film displaying no visible water Excellent 5 Completely transparent

The results are obtained in 50µ blown LDPE film during cold fog test. Data are obtained at 23°C and 50% relative humidity.
Einar® 601 has shown improved short terms antifogging performance compared with a reference, as analysed up to 6 month
after film sample blowing.
