Dear Sir/Madam,

Warm Greetings.

I am currently an undergraduate student, pursuing B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from IIT Delhi
and interested in applying for the post of Associate Consultant in Bain & Co. I believe, Bain & Co.
with its established brand name, great performance record, professional expertise and learning
environment is the ideal company for me to pursue my goal of becoming a business leader.

Besides the variety of challenges offered, fast paced environment and team approach, what
particularly attracts me towards consulting is the steep learning curve and an opportunity to make a
difference. A career in consulting would allow me to interface with extremely sharp people in a
variety of industries, on different projects and in various roles, a truly unique exposure. Engaging at
that level is a great learning experience that only consulting can offer. The opportunity to work with
the best in the industry and effect change in the world’s leading firms is another aspect that excites
me towards consulting.

Bain’s commitment to its philosophy of results, terrific work culture and focus on employee
development are the hallmarks that differentiate it from its competitors. I was particularly impressed
by the openness displayed by the Bainees at the pre-placement talk at IIT Delhi. The acclaimed ‘fun-
loving’ Bain culture and strong relationships were evident from their passion and enthusiasm. Bain
India, with its established presence on the ground and phenomenal success over the past two years, is
my foremost choice for a consulting firm.

I have shown initiative, creativity in problem solving, and a commitment to delivering results
throughout my stay in IIT Delhi. Besides a strong academic record, my analytical skills are further
demonstrated through results achieved in various industry sponsored academic projects. My
internship at Reliance Industries Ltd. gave me an opportunity to employ my problem solving skills
and deliver a practical solution, which resulted in a pre-placement offer from the organization. My
strong affinity towards leadership and team work is evident through various positions of repute and
responsibility held during my stay in IIT - whether it be leading a team of 100 as the Overall
Placement Coordinator to effectively organize Placements for the entire campus or working with a
team of 15, pooling in all our creativity and talent, to put up a winning performance in a stage play.
My accomplishments in Debating again highlight my analytical thinking and strong communication
skills.

I believe I am well placed to be a member of Bain & Co.’s family and feel motivated to be a part of
