A day In The Life

1) How effectively do you think Rachel spent her day?

 Project manager job is one of the hardest jobs involving Time management skills,
strategic reasoning, organisational skills, leadership abilities and decision-making
skills, so that the manager can guide the team, and accomplish the project
successfully within a specified period of time. Rachel has been very effective as a
project manager and there have been other reasons that prove she has spent her
day successfully. She was able to plan her everyday tasks easily and complete the
tasks that are an essential role in the life of the project manager. Most of the time
she was interested in socialising with other bosses, team leaders and employees who
are a big part of the work of project manager's role. At first, she had her
expectations for the day, but when the day goes by, she has to react according to the
circumstances and need to constantly change her schedule, she did it efficiently. She
invested her energy addressing the concerns that were posed due to poor contact
with the clients and was willing to work efficiently with the clients and fix the
problems. Sometimes project managers need to take fast and effective decisions to
fix the problems, and Rachel achieved it in doing that by ensuring express shipping
for the machinery to the location. Rachel was able to finish her duties in everything,
and she even created a plan for the following day. She was busy holding meetings
during the day, socialising with friends, preparing speeches, talking back to
customers, writing the report to the superiors. So, Rachel has a busy day overall and
I think she has spent her day effectively as project manager.

2) What does the case tell you about what it is like to be a project manager?

 As a project manager, one has to interact with difficult issues on a regular basis and
to resolve the problem with a strategic strategy that involves decision-making, team
management, interacting with people, and effective communication. Communication
with others is an important part of the project manager as he / she has to establish
positive interactions with team leaders, subordinates and organization’s head.
 The project manager serves as a link between the consumers and the project team /
organisation where he has to interact actively and learn the customers ' expectations
and the industry's output potential. Throughout the day, project managers go to
staff meetings, socialise with friends, take the prompt briefing from the team leaders
and, if any issues occur, fix them rapidly. · The case provides an explanation of how
the project manager needs to cope with the problems that happen every day, and
the activities that need to be undertaken in order to produce productive outcomes
that contribute to the project being finished successfully.
