DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN MAPEH-7 (PHYSICAL EDUCATION)

July 1-4, 2019


I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:

a. Define what is physical fitness and its components


b. Identify the physical activities that aid in the development of different physical fitness components
c. Undertakes physical activity and physical fitness assessment

 II. Subject Matter:

Reference/s: Teachers GuidE 2-14.
Materials: MANILA PAPER, LAPTOP, PICTURES, VIDEO
III. Procedure
A. Preparatory

B. Reviewing of the previous lesson /presenting the new lesson
Pre-Test: Fill in the Missing letters in the box to come up with the complete word/phrase.

D. Discussion
Physical Fitness – is the body’s ability to function effectively and efficiently without undue fatigue in
work, leisure activities, to meet emergency situations and to resist diseases from sedentary lifestyle.
Leisure- is the amount of time left after all the daily routine activities are accomplished.
TWO COMPONENTS OF PHYSICAL FITNESS:
1. HEALTH-RELATED FITNESS- a component of fitness that are prescribed to improved individual’s
health.
a. Muscular Strength – the ability of the muscle to exert maximal effort in a brief duration.
b. Cardiovascular endurance – the ability of the lungs, heart, and blood vessels to deliver adequate
amounts of oxygen to thr cells to meet the demands of prolonged physical activity.
c. Flexibility- the ability of the muscles and joints to go through a full range of motion.
d. Body composition- refers to proportion of lean body mass to fat body mass.
e. Muscular Endurance- defined as the maximum pull or push that can be exerted one time by a muscle
group.
2. SKILL- RELATED FITNESS – important for success in skills in skillful activities and athletic events.
a. Speed- the ability to perform a task or move from one point to another in the shortest possible time
b. Agility- the ability of an individual to quickly shift or change direction of the body from one point to the
other.
c. Power – ability to perform one maximum effort in the shortest possible time. It is the product of both
strength and speed.
d. Balance- the ability to stay in equilibrium in relation to changes in body position.
e. Reaction Time – is the amount of time it takes to respond to a stimulus.
f. Coordination- is the integration with hand and/or foot movements with the input of the senses.

Prepare your Physical Fitness Score Card and perform the Health-Related fitness and Skill Related fitness

F. Generalization
Film viewing activity: Watch the video of different activities on how to achieve Physical Fitness.
What are the benefits of being physically fit?

IV. Evaluation
The following are statements related to physical fitness. Write FIT, if the statement relates to the being Healthy
and UNFIT, if the statement is not.
