PURPOSE:-

Implementation of quality system to assure the quality of incoming raw material, welding
consumables and bought out items.

APPLICABILITY:-

This SOP will be applicable and mandatory for QC Department.

DEFINITIONS:-
1. Contact Parts of main equipment:- The parts of equipment, which will be in process contact Listed
as below.
A. Shell
B. Liners
C. Rotor
D. Shaft
E. Bottom bearing or bush housing parts.
F. Top cover flange cladding and liner
G. Nozzle flanges
H. Vapor nozzle
I. Seat housing
J. Sleeve
K. Oil collection pot
L. Bottom cone or cup shell

2. Non-Contact Parts of main equipment:- The parts of equipment, which will not be in process
contact Listed as below.
A. Heat tracing coil.
B. Body flanges.
C. Closers.
D. Spirals.
E. Jackets.
F. Jacket nozzles and their flanges.
G. Base plates.
H. Pad plates.
I. Top cover flange.
J. Bearing housing.

M. Locknut, Locknut spanner, bearing clamp and other spares of top assembly.

3. Pressure parts of main equipment:- The parts of equipment, which will be under pressure, either
internal or external, Listed as below.
A. Shell.
B. Jacket.
C. Jacket closers.
D. Heat tracing coil and their flanges.
E. Body flanges.
F. Nozzle pipes.
G. Nozzle flanges.
H. Oil collection pot shell and pipe.
I. Cover flange.
J. Rotor.

PROCEDURE:- For Main Equipment.

A. For Contact Parts of main equipment:-


1. All contact parts should be received with MTR.
2. If MTR not available, Chemical test should be done on same.
3. If client requires for mechanical tests also, then it will be provided. This requirement
should be come from sales in WO and from design in BOM.
4. All contact parts should be mention in BOM by design department, so stores
department will have clarity for the same.
5. Above mentioned contact parts will require MTR/ TC mandatorily.

B. For Non-Contact Parts of main equipment:-


1. All non-contact parts should be received with MTR.
2. All non-contact parts should be mention in BOM by design department, so stores
department will have clarity for the same.
3. If client requires for Lab tests, then it will be provided. This requirement should be
come from sales in WO and from design in BOM.

C. For Pressure Parts of main equipment:-


1. All Pressure parts should be received with MTR.
2. If MTR not available, chemical test should be done in case of SS, and Chemical
+Mechanical test should be done in case of MS or CS.
3. If client requires for mechanical tests in case of SS also, then it will be provided. This
requirement should be come from sales in WO and from design in BOM.
4. All Pressure Parts should be mention in BOM by design department, so stores
department will have clarity for the same.
5. Above mentioned Pressure parts will require MTR/ TC mandatorily.

PROCEDURE:- For Bare Equipment.

A. For Contact Parts of Bare Equipment:-


1. All contact parts should be received with MTR.
2. If MTR not available, PMI test should be done on same.
3. If client requires for lab tests, then it will be provided. This requirement should be
come from sales in WO and from design in BOM.
4. All contact parts should be mention in BOM by design department, so stores
department will have clarity for the same.

B. For Non-Contact Parts of Bare equipment:-


1. All non-contact parts should be received with MTR.
2. All non-contact parts should be mention in BOM by design department, so stores
department will have clarity for the same.
3. If client requires for Lab tests, then it will be provided. This requirement should be
come from sales in WO and from design in BOM.

C. For Pressure Parts of Bare equipment:-


1. All Pressure parts should be received with MTR.
2. If MTR not available, PMI test should be done on same.

PROCEDURE:- For Standard raw material (Flanges and fittings).


1. All Flanges and fittings should be having markings on them, either printed or
punched as per code. That should consist at least, make, pressure rating, applicable
code, size, MOC etc.
2. TC for all Standard raw materials should be provided prior to inspection, and should
be traceable with markings on material received.
3. If no TC arrived, PMI test should be done on same.
