● Parents may request virtual instruction. School systems permitted to limit
transitions between virtual and in-person to the end of a grade period.
● School systems must provide daily, on-campus attendance for students who follow
public health procedures and whose parents wish them to attend in-person.
● During the first three weeks, school systems may limit access to on-campus
instruction.
● Any family who does not have Internet access and/or devices is still entitled to have
their student receive on-campus instruction each day during the three week period.

● On July 1, parents were invited to participate in an informal survey about their
desired instructional setting for their student
○ When the survey closed on July 9, approximately 50/50 split between in-person and virtual.
Results varied slightly by grade level.
○ Parents will make a formal decision for the first grading period during the re-enrollment period.
○ Per TEA guidelines, changes can be made until 2 weeks before the start of school.
● On July 9, staff were asked to indicate whether or not they will return to work
on-site and were provided information from Human Resource Services and
Benefits about how to request accommodations or COVID-19 related leave.
○ The staff survey is open through July 16.
