EFFECTIVE: Immediately
Once the iQ software version 11.0 has been installed on your computer, you will no longer have
access to 2010 pricing files. Any quotes that are not updated to version 11.0 may be printed for
reviewing, but cannot be exported from the software or edited. If you need to edit a quote that has
been done in iQ version 10.2, you will first need to update it to iQ version 11.0.
If you have multiple computers in your facility, you may want to consider installing the iQ software
version 11.0 on one or two of them first, and then update the remainder once the price adjustment has
taken effect. This will allow you access to both 2010 and 2011 pricing. If your location only has one
computer available, you may want to wait until as close to the order cut-off date as possible before
updating your system, in case you need to make any changes to your quotes at 2010 pricing.
1 Version 11.0
Detailed software changes
With your assistance, we continue to identify and correct product knowledge and pricing issues in the
iQ software. The following list details the corrections and/or enhancements included in this release.
Reports
1. Made a change to the Quote Summary and all of the Abbreviated Quote Reports to remove the
header information containing the dealer and customer information from all pages except the first
page of the report. We also added footer information to the bottom of these reports that contains
the quote number, page number, and version of the software. This change will help reduce the
number pages that print for these reports.
2. Added the head and seat board and platform board descriptions to the Long Report when quoting
custom Perma-Shield® casement bay or bow combinations.
Quoting
Andersen® 400 Series Tilt-Wash Double-Hung Windows
1. Added a Special Product Request/long lead time message when quoting 400 Series tilt-wash
double-hung picture windows with a grille in a Colonial – Cottage alignment.
2. Added the part number for 30 and 45 degree platform boards in a TW-DHP34 configuration
through the Window Accessories section. During the update process from iQ v10.2 to v11.0 the
correct part number will be assigned.
3. Corrected the issue where the software was not pulling head and seat board parts for a 400 Series
tilt-wash double-hung bay in a TW45-30XX-2-18 configuration and 5 ¼” maple was selected as a
color option. During the update process from iQ v10.2 to v11.0, the correct material will be added
to the quote.
4. Corrected the rough opening width dimension being displayed for some 400 Series tilt-wash
double-hung pre-defined combinations with a center picture window. The software was displaying
a dimension that was 1/8” smaller than the correct value.
2 Version 11.0
4. Corrected the issue where the software was not pulling side extension jambs for a Perma-Shield®
casement box bay in a C55 height when White – Painted was selected as a color option. During the
update process from iQ v10.2 to v11.0, the correct material will be added to the quote.
5. Corrected the price for oak, maple, and painted white head and seat boards quoted on custom
Perma-Shield casement bay and bow units in a walk-out configuration. The software was
overstating the price of this material. During the update process from iQ v10.2 to v11.0, the correct
pricing will be applied.
6. Corrected the price for Perma-Shield casement traditional folding hardware in black in the Window
Accessories section. The software was pricing this as $75.00 and the correct price is $9.00. During
the update process from iQ v10.2 to v11.0, the correct pricing will be applied.
7. Removed distressed nickel as an option when quoting traditional folding hardware for Perma-shield
casement and awning windows through the Window Accessories section. This hardware offering is
not available at this time.
Specialty Windows
1. Removed the part number when quoting a removable interior grille for a Circle Top™ for
Casement window in a 7/8” profile through the Casement Specialty Window section. The part
number will be removed from quotes containing this grille when updating from iQ v10.2 to v11.0.
3 Version 11.0
3. Corrected the price for perimeter exterior trim on 400 Series joined patio doors. The software was
displaying a price that was lower than the actual price. During the update process from iQ v10.2 to
iQ 11.0, the correct price will be applied to the line item.
Andersen® 100 Series Windows (This product is available in a limited area at this time)
1. Corrected the load factor (FTL) value being calculated for 100 Series window joined combinations.
The software was assigning a value that was lower than the actual FTL for the combination.
2. Removed Prairie A and Short Fractional as grille pattern options for 100 Series reverse-cottage
single-hung windows that are 41 ½” in height or less. The lower sash in this unit is too small to
accommodate these patterns. During the update process from iQ v10.2 to v11.0, any line items
containing this option will red-line and a new grille pattern selection will be required.
Miscellaneous Changes
1. Activated exterior trim as an option for nearly all Andersen® 200 and 400 Series products. This
product has been available on a pilot basis and was activated after the release of the iQ software
v10.2. With this release, all dealers will have visibility to this new accessory.
2. Removed the ‘It Counts’ icons from products that would have qualified for the federal government
tax credit program. At the time of this release, the government program will expire on December
31, 2010 and this release of the iQ software will be the last release of 2010.
3. Corrected the part number for forest green sealant quoted in the Window Accessories/Installation
Accessories section.
4. Corrected the issue where the software would shut down when creating a new project from the
Customers view tab.
5. Corrected the Refresh List option under Projects in the Main window menu bar. This fix will allow
users that have networked their quote database to update the project list when Refresh List is
selected.
6. Corrected the issue where the software was assigning part numbers to certain items and the part
number had been de-commissioned. This was primarily for 400 Series tilt-wash double-hung
standard combinations, however there were other products affected by this. During the update
process from iQ v10.2 to v11.0, the software will remove the incorrect part numbers.
Pricing
1. Adjusted list prices for certain products as outlined in the ‘Andersen Pricing for 2011’
communication. Any new pricing will be applied to affected products once a quote is updated from
iQ v10.2 to iQ v11.0.
Joining
1. Corrected the length of the inside casing used when joining 400 Series Tilt-Wash Transom (TWT)
units over a 400 Series tilt-wash (TW) double-hung unit in TW26 and TW210 widths. The
software was pulling the next larger size when the correct size is available.
4 Version 11.0
2. Removed factory applied as a perimeter extension jamb application location when joining 400
Series tilt-wash double-hung windows with a DP Upgrade package and 5-1/4” or 7-1/8” white
painted extension jambs. These are only available field applied.
3. Corrected the rough opening width dimension when vertical joining Woodwright® transom units
together. The software was only adding 1/16” to the frame width dimension when the correct
amount should be ¾”.
XML / Integration
Additional data has been added to the Andersen® Detailed .xml format. If you have a software
integration that uses either of these .xml file formats, contact the iQ software help line at 888-772-7796
for a list of the detailed changes to these files in this release of the iQ software.
Known Issues
The following issues have been identified and will be addressed in future updates to the iQ software:
Reporting
1. The dimensional values used on the Unit Spec Report may not be accurate. Note: Dimensional
values for Flexiframe® and custom arch windows are accurate if built through the Edit Shape
window. If the unit is built in the Schematic Configurator and joined to any other product, the
dimensions will not be accurate.
Quoting
1. When quoting A-Series 144” long length oak or maple extension jambs through A-Series Window
Accessories the pricing will be incorrect. When quoted through Parts Search or part number entry
the price of the extension jambs will be correct.
2. When quoting a Perma-Shield® awning inside mull casing through Window Accessories in either
pine or white, the software is not assigning a part number for the casing.
3. Standard Prairie A grille for Perma-Shield awning units (single, double, or triple-wide) will not
align with the standard Prairie A pattern for Perma-Shield casement (single, double, or triple-wide)
units.
4. The grille patterns for Perma-Shield casement and awning picture windows that are joined over or
under a Perma-Shield awning double-wide unit will not align properly.
5. The horizontal grille bars for Perma-Shield awning picture units will not align with the horizontal
grille bars for Perma-Shield casement or casement picture windows.
6. When quoting Perma-Shield awning double and triple-wide units, the Prep for Electric Opener
question is missing. This is an available option but is not appearing in the question list.
7. If you create a 400 Series tilt-wash double-hung double or triple-wide combination unit and change
the interior or exterior color option at the Composite level, the part number, description, and pricing
line will update to reflect the change, however the answer in the question/answer set will remain the
original selection.
8. If you quote an Entry Door and use the ‘Save and New Copy’ functionality, the software will copy
over all of the options, including the size of the door. You will need to go to the Frame Width
question and select a new size offering when using this functionality.
9. We are allowing tempered as a glazing option of 100 Series gliding XO/OX and rectangle units that
has a diagonal glass measurement less the 13”. Our glass supplier cannot provide glass in these
sizes.
5 Version 11.0
10. When you quote a custom size Perma-Shield casement bay or bow unit and then change the ‘Size
Specification’ question to standard sizes, the software will not allow you to select a standard size
combination. You will need to clear the line item and re-enter it making the standard size selection.
11. When quoting custom casement bow combinations that have a rough opening greater than or equal
to 72 ½”, the software is not pulling any side extension jambs if they are selected.
Pricing
1. When quoting a multi-wide Flexiframe® unit combination with factory applied extension jambs,
the price of the extension jambs is not rolling into the total price on the detailed .XML file.
2. When quoting an Andersen® storm door in a custom size contemporary interchangeable full view
with nickel hardware, the price displayed is incorrect. The software is pricing this door at $430.00
and the correct price is $630.00.
Updating
1) When updating pre-defined combinations and bay/bow units with composite level add-on pricing,
the add-on value will be removed from the quote. If the add-on is selected at the individual unit
the pricing will update correctly.
6 Version 11.0
material and that no material will be applied to the quote. The mull will remain a blue line valid
mull, even though no material is being applied to the quote.
