Question 1. What kinds of gifts do you like?

Để trả lời câu này, bạn xác định sẽ có 2 loại quà chính
• Sentimental gifts : quà tinh thần
• Monetary gifts : quà vật chất
Chức năng của loại quà là gì, anh em nắm rõ:
• Sentimental gifts can be kept in a long time. They remind us about givers/senders
• Monetary gifts can be used immediately. They are practical = they are a life-saver
(a life-saver; từ này thì hay bá đạo, nghĩa là rất hữu ích)
Bạn sẽ có 02 cách trả lời hoàn chỉnh như sau
• Cách 1: I prefer receiving monetary gifts, such as phone or clothes. You see,
monetary gifts can be used immediately. This is especially true because they are
practical. Especially, I seldom go shopping for daily stuff, so monetary gifts are a
life-saver to me coz I can use them daily.
• Cách 2: I consider myself as an introverted person (người nội tâm). I would say
that I prefer receiving sentimental gifts from other people simply because I can
feel their care, thoughts and affection (sự yêu thương). More importantly,
sentimental gifts can be kept in a long time. They remind us about
givers/senders. You see, money doesnt matter but it is thought that counts

Question 2. Did you ever receive a gift that you didnt like? What did you do after
that?
Có 2 cách:
• 1 là, bạn sẽ vẫn giữ nó như một món đồ lưu niệm .(keep it/them as souvernirs)
• 2 là, bạn đã mang nó cho từ thiện ( give it/them to charity)

Nhưng trước hết bạn hãy dùng mẹo sau, khi nhớ lại chuyện gì đó, dùng câu này phát
lấy điểm luôn nhé.
• If my memory serves me right (nếu tôi nhớ rõ) – sau đó, kể rõ món quà gì -> 2
years ago, one of my friends gave me a red shirt, but I was not into it at all (không
thích chút nào). Red is not my cup of tea, you know. So, I decided to give it to my
brother/ to charity for someone else who are in need (người đang khó khăn).

Describe a time when you received money as a present

What: Receiving money as a gift is not a custom in my country but wedding

parties or Get holiday.
When + Where: On my last birthday I received a big amount of money from my uncle,
Thanh. On that day, I threw a small party at home and invited some
friends and relatives to come. We had a good time there. It is really a
blast!
How: People brought with them sentimental values such as flowers, cards or
wine rather than monetary values. But only my uncle gave me an
envelope with money inside. I was too shy to get that money but my
uncle understood that I was broke and that time I had to tighten my
belt for daily stuff such as foods and for rents. So, I was so grateful for
his kindness actually.
Kết thúc: To me, my uncle is more than an uncle, but a father a friend who is
always there for me at my worst, at my best, especially when I was in
deep water at that time.

Question 1. Are handmade gifts expensive in Vietnam?
Nhìn chung, các sản phẩm quà tặng bằng tay ở Việt Nam sẽ đắt đỏ hơn các vật tương
tự như vậy nhưng làm theo dây chuyền công nghiệp. Đơn giản vì như bạn biết đấy, các
quà bằng tay thường tốn rất nhiều thời gian và công sức để hoàn thành, nên giá cả nó
đắt là điều hiển nhiên.
 On average, handmade gifts in Vietnam are generally more expensive than
the same items but made from an industrial line. Simply because, you know,
hand-crafted items always take more time and effort to complete, hence it is a
given that they are more costly.

Question 2. How to choose a gift for people who already have a lot of things?
Nếu một người thực sự có nhiều thứ và không có món quà nào có thể có ý nghĩa với anh
ta nữa thì tôi có thể không muốn tặng anh ta những món quà vật chất mà thay vào đó
tôi có thể làm điều gì đó có ý nghĩa cho người đó , ví dụ tôi có thể đưa anh ta đi uống
nước và trả tiền cho nó hoặc làm những điều tương tự như vậy.
 If a person really has that many things and no gift could be meaningful to
him anymore then I may not want to give him physical presents but rather I could
do something meaningful for that person instead for example I could take him
out for a drink and pay for it or do things similar to that.
