Activity 1: Students will complete the activity sheet. (Handout will be distributed)

What jobs did you choose to earn money?

Why do you think you will be successful?

Activity 2: Business Flyer

Directions: Create a poster or flyer that advertises what you are offering. Post your advertisement on
bulletin boards in neighborhood stores and other places where potential customers are likely to see it. If
you have advertising expenses, don’t forget to include these when determining the price of what you are
selling! Choose your favorite money-making idea. Create a flyer that advertises what you are selling.
These are things you should include on your flyer:

• Pictures, words and other things that catch people’s attention.

• What you are offering.

• Your qualifications for doing the job

• Why customers might like or use what you are selling.

• What your good or services costs.

• How to contact you – usually a phone number if you are providing a service.

Activity 3: Fill out “What If?” handout. The students will receive hand out “What If graphic
organizer” and students will fill it out in their groups. Question will be, “What if …your business would
open in reality? How would it impact our community?

Closing: All student will fill out exit cards at the end of lesson.
Closure: Verbalize or demonstrate learning or skill one more time. May state future learning. Material/Resources: What
do you need for this lesson?

During this lesson a student learnt how to become entrepreneurship. Now the students know that it’s not
only important to choose right job to earn money but also to promote that job. In other words, the
students learnt that they need to do marketing of their job to be successful e.g. business flyer. Due to
“What If” activity, the students realized that their business might have impact on their community and
family. At the end of lesson, the students will fill out exit cards and will let a teacher know if they have
additional questions about unit.

Content Specific Considers

Describe how you used multiple representations to model and describe the instructional content.

To develop students' discovery, reasoning, and implementation skills, the student needs to understand a
concept of entrepreneurship. In order to understand this concept, a student will pretend that he is an
entrepreneur by choosing a job. After that, he will make a business flyer and that will help her/him to
learn about marketing. Furthermore, handout “What If” will help a student understands how his/her
company can influence local community. In other words, the students will inquiry based learning in a
form of active learning by posing questions, and pretending scenarios that he/she is an entrepreneur who
owns business.

Additional Considerations

Adaptations to Meet Individual Needs: How will you adapt the instruction to meet the needs of individual students,
specifically SWD and ELs?

• Visuals power point presentation

• Allow newcomers to work with others who speak their language

• Permit ELLs to frequently speak in small groups, rather than in front of the whole class.

• Promote opportunities for students to demonstrate, explain, draw, and show (e.g. Business Flyer)

• Provide ELLs with digital translator or access to Google Translate on PC

Possible misconceptions and possible solutions to address the misconceptions.

1. Possible misconception is that a student can have a trouble to hear, possible solution is power
point presentation with paper handouts.
2. Possible misconception is that a student has a vision problem, possible solution is oral
presentation (description of slides and print handout with larger size of letters).

How is technology used to impact student learning?

Technology impacts student learning significantly. All students have access to computer and lesson will
be emailed at the end.

How is the lesson culturally relevant/ responsive or address a social justice concern?

Lesson is relevant to our everyday life. It is assumed that a student knows what advertising is (e.g. digital
advertising, advertising in magazines, etc.).

Management/Safety Issues (required for science) Are there any management and/or safety issues that need to be
considered when teaching this lesson? None

Reflection on Planning

After reviewing your lesson with your peer or partner teacher, what you would change and why? How did the
discussion with your peer or partner teacher help you grow as a professional?

N/A
