DEDICATION

This study was conducted by four researchers who had the determination to make

the study successful. The researchers would like to thank God, because above all, He was

the one who gave the researchers the strength and the knowledge to answer and surpass

the problems they the researchers encountered. This study is also dedicated to the parents

and family of the researchers for their financial and moral support and for their

encouragement.

To our parents, who raised us to be the person we are today. You have been with

us every step of the way, through good times and bad. Thank you for all the unconditional

love, guidance and support that you have given us. Thank you for everything.

To all the faculty, staff of the College of Engineering, Architecture and

Technology. We need to thank especially Engr. Kenneth G. Occeño, Engr. Shane Grey H.

Beldia, Engr. Allan T. Buenvenida, Engr. Paulo Alberto I. Cercado, Prof. Mary Vincentia

O. Beldia, Engr. Wennie F. Legario, Engr. Rolando R. Francisco and Dr. Annie V. Reyes,

who gave the researchers advice and additional knowledge for the improvement of the

study. To the researchers’ friends and classmates who stood by the researchers’ side in

their struggle to come up with solutions they needed to finish their study.

To all that the researchers have mentioned, this study is gratefully and heartily

dedicated.

ABSTRACT

Jegs B. Arguelles, John Yves B. Castillon, Jade Aivan E. Manait, Capiz State
University, Main Campus, Roxas City, March 2019, “Development of Remote
Controlled Lighting Device Using Bluetooth”.

Research Adviser: Engr. Kenneth G. Occeño

Generally, this study was conducted to develop a remote controlled device using

an android through Bluetooth or a manual three-way switch. This is conducted (1) to

determine the average time delay for the device to respond in a command, (2) to

determine the maximum distance of the device from the smartphone to respond, and (3)

to determine the effectiveness of the device in terms of controlling the load.

This study was conducted at the Capiz State University, Main Campus from May

2019 to February 2020.

Trial method was employed by the researchers which were within the realm or

scope of true experiments. Statistical tools utilized in the analysis of the date where the

mean. Mean was computed to determine the effectiveness of the device in terms of

controlling the load.

Findings show that the remote controlled lighting device using Bluetooth was

capable of remotely switching the load in less than a second. It also shows that the device

can only respond in the maximum distance of connection. The quality of the connection

between the device and the smartphone varies in the number of interference, therefore

only in an open area the device can operate well.
