RECEIVING OFFER LETTER

ACCESS TO THE UWE WELCOME PORTAL
You will receive an email containing the UWE Welcome ID and
password to access the UWE welcome portal

It is important that you check the portal regularly as there are messages that
will prompt you for action.

ACCEPT THE OFFER
Receive the conditional or unconditional offer letter
under “My application” tab in the welcome portal.

Please accept or decline the offer.

• You are not able to apply for accommodation if you do not accept the offer.

APPLY FOR ACCOMMODATION
Once you have accepted the offer, you’ll be invited to
apply for accommodation as early as in March, 2020.

• If you applied for UWE’s accommodations before

25th June 2020, you’ll be guaranteed with a room to stay.

UPLOAD DOCUMENTS
Students are required to upload the following documents on the
UWE welcome portal.
• Passport biodata page
• Upload all certified semesters results
• Final result (once it is released, please upload it on the welcome portal and *Note: The information is correct as of 11/June/2020, it may be subject to change.

• Proof of payment (receipt of £3000 tuition deposit payment e.g. TT receipt or

PAY THE NON-REFUNDABLE* TUITION FEE DEPOSIT OF £3,000

Once you have met all the conditions in your conditional offer letter and receive
the unconditional offer letter, you are required to pay £3000 tuition fee deposit.
If you were to make the tuition deposit payment by 31st July 2020, you will be
able to obtain IHS fee waiver to a maximum amount of £300. The £300 will then be
deducted from your tuition fees (or other university fees that are applicable).

TAKE TUBERCULOSIS TEST (TB)
BANGLADESH students will need to be tested for TB
at one of the UKVI approved clinics, before applying for
student visa. Please refer to Page 5 for UKVI approved TB
testing clinics in Bangladesh.

REQUESTING FOR CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies)
You’ll need to have a CAS to apply for student visa.
To request for a CAS, you’ll need to perform the task below:

• Performed step 2, 4 and 5
• Perform“My Visa” task – submit passport details in the UWE Welcome portal.
• Inform UWE Asia Pacific International Office about your CAS request by
emailling to auvee.rahman@uwe.ac.uk or tausif.ahmed@uwe.ac.uk
• Confirm CAS preview in the UWE Welcome Portal under “My Visa tab”

GET VISA ASSISTANCE
You may get free visa assistance from UWE Asia Pacific International Office or
your representative (Agent). Please bring along the following documents to
meet us:

(i) Passport (Current and immediate expired passport)

(ii) CAS
(iii) Original transcripts
(iv) Financial documents (applicable to international students who are applying for visa in Malaysia only)
(v) TB Test results
(vi) Credit card for payment of:

REGISTER FOR AIRPORT WELCOME SERVICES
UWE will provide airport welcome services at London
Heathrow Airport and Bristol International Airport, please refer to the
website or UWE welcome portal for information.

We strongly advise you to book your air ticket early, but please
DO NOT issue the air ticket before your student visa is approved.

The Pre-Departure Briefing will be conducted virtually,
you should receive invitation by email when close to the intake

UKVI TUBERCULOSIS
TESTING CLINICS IN BANGLADESH
● You must be tested for tuberculosis (TB) if you are coming to the UK for 6 months or more and are a
resident of Bangladesh.

Your test must be from a clinic approved by the Home Office. We will not accept a TB test certificate from
a clinic we have not approved.

1. ATTENDING THE CLINIC

You can contact any clinic to book an appointment either by telephone, email or
visiting the clinic. You should make it clear you need the test for a UK visa application.

You can expect to get an appointment a few days after you request one.
We cannot arrange or prioritise appointments for you.

If you need to cancel your appointment, you should contact the clinic as soon as possible.

2. WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING WITH YOU

• valid identification which contains your photograph such as a passport, national ID card or Refugee Asylum
Seeker Card
• a photocopy of your identification
• the tuberculosis test fee
• if you have had tuberculosis in the past or have any other lung disease you should provide details of your
previous screening and, if possible, your medical notes and x-ray results
If you would like an appointment with a female clinician, please ask the clinic when you schedule your
appointment.

3. TEST FEES
11 years and above 85 USD

The fee must be paid in Bangladeshi Taka (BDT) directly at clinic. The US dollar amount will be converted
to Bangladeshi Taka based on the IOM official exchange rate. The cost of the test is in addition to the visa
application fee.

The fee is not refundable if the person is tested positive for TB or decides not travel to the UK, or their visa is
refused.
The test fee does not cover treatment if you already have TB.

*All children will need to initially have a certificate which will be issued after a questionnaire and physical exam. If there is any indication of
TB, a chest X-ray will be conducted along with other follow up tests.
