1 Clamp and cut
right film section
- track up -

Place rig h t film section - glossy side

up and perforations away from you -
over metal pins (a) on right side of pivot-
ing plate. Let film end protrude beyond
the cutting edge by at least one frame .
Slightly pull film toward the right.
Depress lever of right film clamp , move
clamp forward over the film , and release
lever.
Cut and remover trimmings.

Clamp and cut
2 left film section
- track up-

Place left film section over metal pins

(b), pull it slightly to the left, clamp it in
position, cut and remove trimmings.
To cut the film, move the knife lever swiftly
downwards - i. e. neither to the right nor
left - without applying force.
A perfect cut is obtained if you cut each
film section separately, first the right
section, then the left.

- 2 -
Apply splicing patch to
3 glossy side of film, leaving
sound track open.

Place a WORKER splicing patch - with

its red end up and pointing toward you -
over plastic pins (c) between film clamps.
The far ends of all slots should evenly
contact the rear sides of the plastic pins.
Hold rear half of splicing patch down with
your index finger, while pulling front half
toward you with your other hand. Lightly
press down patch to right and left of spli-
cing point, but do not push it into cutting
slot. Now release rear half of splicing
patch.
- 3 -
Apply splicing patch to
4 emulsion side of film
and remove spliced film

Swing pivoting plate with film forward .

Press firmly on splicing point, especially
on cut ends and perforation .
Pull front end of splicing patch toward the
rear over the film edge. At the same time
push splicing tape to the rear under short
flap of patch with your index finger, and
press tape firmly onto film.
Swing back pivoting plate and remove film.
Press - but do not rub - finished splice
between the two plates supplied with the
splicer.
- 4 -
An even simpler and more effective method of smooth ing
fini shed splices is by means of the new
WORKER TAPE ROLLER
It is supplied together with a large rolling plate for the
film . You can use the TAPE ROLLER for pressing and
smoothing fini shed splices on your film s as well as on
magnetic and casette tapes.

As the roll is anti-magnetic, it does not interfere with

magnetic sound and picture recording in any way .

Frame line
The WORKER S 8 splicer cuts exactly in the middle bet-
ween perforations, i. e. exactly where the frame line is
supposed to be .
However on exposed films the frame line is sometimes
positioned sligthly off-center so that the cut is made within
the picture rather than on the frame line.
Since the WORKER S 8 makes a perfect splice, this does
not matter. However if you want this corrected, you will
have to adjust your camera. By no means adjust the
press!
Never splice films taken from different cameras, but splice
each film separately.

- 5 -
Exchanging the upper knife: Take out slotted screw on
left side of knife lever. Loosen hexagon screws, using
wrench. Pull out knife. When inserting knife, place it
between plate under hexagon screws and knife holder,
and tighten screws.

Never loosen the two screws on top of the knife lever.

following.
Note: In the illustrations the yellow backing strip is shown
in blue screened print.

while pulling front red end off toward you
with your right hand. Press front of patch

and durable.

The two dots at the rear of the
pivoting plate serve as guide.
Otherwise proceed as instructed
above.
