I. OBJECTIVE
At the end of the lesson, learners are expected to:
1. Define contemporary art?
2. Explain the art forms and the development of Philippine
Arts.
3. Show the form of integrated contemporary art in the
Philippines in choreography, musical instrument, literary
and music composition, visual design and theatrical
performance.
A. Content Standards The learner demonstrates appreciation of contemporary art
forms, found in the various regions by understanding the
elements and principles.

B. Performance Standards The learner presents a form of integrated contemporary art


based on the region of his / her choice. e.g. choreography,
musical instrument, literary and music composition, visual
design, and theatrical performance.

C. Most Essential Learning The learners describe various contemporary art forms and
Competencies (MELC) their practices from the various regions.

D. Enabling Competencies Research on various contemporary art forms, techniques


and performance practices.

A. Introduction The learners will do the walkthrough of the lesson
expectation.

What is contemporary art?


Contemporary art is the art of today, produced by artists who are
living in our time. It provides opportunities to reflect on society and
the issues that are important to us and the world.

They write an example of contemporary arts and what is


contemporary art in your own words.
B. Development Think, pair and share
The learners will share (messenger) their idea about
contemporary arts and give example. And ask to his/her
partner, where you can find this forms of arts in the
Philippines?
The learners will read the Integrative Art As Applied To
Contemporary Art.
After reading, they will answer the questions provided.

C. Engagement The learners will research different arts forms (e.g. visual
arts, architecture and literature, theatre arts, dance,
choreography and music) and the development of Philippine
Art in three major traditions – Ethnic Tradition, Spanish
Colonial Tradition, American Colonial and Contemporary
Tradition.
The learners will do timeline of development of Philippine
Arts and their arts form used.
