Final Assignment (individual Submission): Dateline 14 May

Assignment 1. (Max 1000 words) 10 Marks

Write in your own words:

https://unctad.org/en/pages/newsdetails.aspx?OriginalVersionID=2333

https://venngage.com/blog/coronavirus-impact-on-environment-infographic/

Read through these two articles (and many more available online like this). How do you think
we can sustain the positive environmental changes occurred from this pandemic situation?
And simultaneously how can we eliminate or get rid of the negative consequences? You
can discuss both in global and national (Bangladesh) context. Bringing examples will be
beneficial.

Assignment 2. (Max 1500 words) 10 Marks

1. Examine the following para. Write your opinion whether do you think it is possible
to live a modern life without using plastic pollutants or creating plastic pollution?
Give a logical explanation in detail in favour of your argument.
2. What could be the major future threat(s) from plastic or polymers pollution? Or
which of this will cause us human and our ecosystem most suffering?
3. As recycling is not working and the use of plastics getting newer scopes, what can
be done to make sure that they cause less damage to our ecosystem?
The real threat from pollution and pollutants is yet to be fully revealed. Decades of awareness
campaign, scientific endeavour and policy work only succeeded to recycle a mere 9% of the
global plastics. In the meantime, novel pollutants like Microplastic, Microfibers and
Microbeads are already occupying our ecosystem and threatening our existence in a new
way. On the other hand, the pandemic situation like coronavirus has created unprecedented
usability of disposables made of cheap polymers.

Issues to be careful:
1. Submit word document or both pdf and word through a single email. Write your name, id
and section in email.
2. Do not simply copy-paste from the internet or book or reading materials. It will cause
marks deduction. Write in your own words. If you copy-paste from the internet, there will
be a high possibility of similarity with other 80 students’ submission as well. So, it won’t be
much difficult to catch.
3. You can divide your answer into section, heading and sub-heading
4. You can use photos, diagrams, graphs (not mandatory though)
5. Maximum word limit is mentioned. However, do not dare to write a too short answer.
6. Do not miss dateline.
7. Write your name, id and section as per the university record.

that is most adaptable to change”. charles darwin.
