1. This lesson looks at the cover page and preliminary pages of a thesis.

Therefore, it will cover:

iv. Acknowledgement
v.Dedication.
vi.List of tables
vii.List of Figures

2. Chapter one of thesis is a unique chapter because it is the only one that has introduction inside
introduction, that is two introductions.The first introduction is the general introduction of the whole
research proposal or the whole thesis.The second introduction is specific to what chapter one
contains.

Chapter one introduces the background to the study,problem statement,scope of the


study,justification of the study,significance of the study,objectives,research
questions,hypotheses,theoretical framework,conceptual framework,analytical framework,and
definitions of terms found in the title of the thesis as well as the whole chapter.

3. This lesson brings to you Related Literature Review.

It looks at:
1.INTRODUCTION TO THE CHAPTER
2.CONCEPTS,OPINIONS AND IDEAS FROM AUTHORS/EXPERTS.
a.Cause (IV)
i.Define the concepts of IV according to different authors.
ii.Break the IV into several components and define each of them.
b.Problem (DV)
i.Define the concepts of DV according to different authors.
ii.Break the DV into several components and define each of them.
N.B. If you do not get any theories for your IV and DV, then you can use Conceptual Framework.
