STEPS TAKEN FOR DUST CONTROL & REDUCING POLLUTION DURING CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES

Subject: Compliance w.r.t Control Measures for Construction Dust

ensure measures are taken to mitigate dust pollution
from construction.
The EPCA has given a concise checklist for inspection
of construction sites. This should

As per the EPCA inspection checklist of construction site regarding mitigation measures of dust
pollution from constructions activities, following mitigation measures are continuously being
implemented at site i.e. Redevelopment of General Pool Residential Colony at Thyagraj Nagar, New
Delhi to control the dust pollution.
1. Water sprinkling is being done regularly on unpaved surfaces and areas with loose soil to suppress
dust emission.
2. Construction material carrying vehicles are properly been covered to control dust generation.
3. Wind breaking walls of appropriate height have been provided around the project site area.
4. To control dust emission green net has already been provided over the Buildings which are under
construction phase. In addition to above mentioned dust control measures we are also continuously
following below mentioned mitigation measures at site for dust control.
1. All the excavated soil stored properly within the site premises & also covered with green net to
minimize dust generation.
2. All the construction materials & debris stored within the site premises are being properly covered
with green net to avoid dust emission.
3. Conveyor belt used for pulling construction material for batch mixing plant has properly been
covered to avoid dust emission.
4. Vehicles which are used for construction activities having valid PUC certificates.
5. Workers who are engaged in loading and unloading activities or other dust emission activities are
working by wearing dust mask.
6. All the vehicles are operating in non-peak hours and speed limit are being maintained 10 kmph to
control dust.
The generated construction demolition waste of the site is being sent to IL&FS Environment
Infrastructure & services ltd, MCD C & D W Recycling Plant, Gate No. 1, Hanuman Mandir Road,
Near MCD Flats, BLK-31, Jahangirpuri, Delhi-110033

has directed repair and building of
pavements and vacuum cleaning of
roads. This needs to be expedited and
implemented across NCR. Based on this,
the following may be carried out:
• Implement street design guidelines
for footpaths and cycle tracks with
adequate Vegetative buffers and
paving of roads. Take steps for
blacktopping / pavement of road
shoulders to avoid road dust.
• Phase-in mechanical / vacuumbased street sweeping
wherever
feasible; introduce wet / mechanized
