Memorandum of Agreement

Amid the widespread Corona Virus, the Philippine educational system faces
challenges in offering quality education. Due to the New Normal setting, the educational
sector began significant changes in delivering teaching learning process for the upcoming
school year, ensuring the safety of the learners, teachers and personnel without compromising
the offering of quality education.
The Department of Education (DepEd) has given instruction for public and private
schools of different levels to conduct learning modalities that will suit the needs of the
current situation.
Based on survey results, the students of Sta. Catalina Bata National High School
(SCBNHS) opted for the modular learning delivery. In this modality, modules will be
distributed to the students.
To achieve this end, SCBNHS solicits the help and support of Local Government Unit
(LGU) in the distribution of modules.

WHEREAS, the Sta. Catalina Bata National High School, hereinafter referred to as
“SCHOOL”, is the primary instrumentality to fulfill the task of distributing modules for the
learners of different grade levels for the School Year 2020-2021;

WHEREAS, the SCHOOL, in connection to the mandate and instruction of the Department
of Education (DepEd) will start distributing learners’ materials (LMs) before the school
opening on August 24;

WHEREAS, the SCHOOL will fulfill the distribution of the LMs through physical
distribution;

WHEREAS, to achieve this objective, the SCHOOL needs to enter into an agreement -
partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU), herein referred to as the “LGU”;

WHEREAS, the LGU, headed by the Barangay Captains of areas located near the SCHOOL
premises, will cooperate with the School in accomplishing the task;

WHEREAS, the LGU and the SCHOOL will work together in distributing the LMs to the
learners;

WHEREAS, the SCHOOL and the LGU, hereinafter collectively referred to as “the
PARTIES”, undertake to collaborate for the successful distribution of LMs in cognizant of
the need for special protection of the PARTIES and with the best interest of the learner at
heart;

NOW, THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the foregoing premises, the PARTIES
hereby agree as follows:

1. That, the LGU of the surrounding Barangays near the School shall assist in the
distribution of the LMs upon agreed specifications;

2. That, the PARTIES will observe minimum health standards and protocols
while performing the task;

3. That, the term of the agreement shall be perpetual or as long as it is needed for
educational improvement purposes only, effective upon the signing of this
agreement;

4. That, any modification of this agreement shall be subject to the mutual

agreement of both PARTIES;
