LEARNING CONTINUITY PLAN

I. Introduction
Rationale/background of the plan

In the wake of this worldwide crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of
Education (DepEd) addresses the challenges in the basic education through the Learning Continuity Plan
(LCP), which will be in effect in the School Year 2020-2021.

The LCP is the major response of the department to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of
the learners, teachers, and personnel in the time of this calamity.

Learning Continuity Plan (LCP) is designed to set strategic directions to public and private
schools to ensure that learners acquire the Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs) in the midst
of this pandemic. Inclusive with this is the education in all levels – kindergarten, elementary school,
junior high school, and senior high school. This includes formal system, Alternative Learning System
(ALS) and Indigenous People Education (IPEd).

This step is to cater accessible, quality and relevant education to all Filipino learners despite the
current situation. Thus, notwithstanding the prevailing health condition in the Philippines and all over the
world education must not stop. With this, the Sta. Catalina Bata National High School joins with the
department and our country in this undertaking.

Challenges may come our way and this task may not be an easy one but as we come together,
hand-in-hand, this endeavour will be possible.
