Note: The MANTIS installation on the terminal server can only be started from the terminal-server console.
In this way, every user automatically gets a MANTIS installation without having to perform any further action.
Installing MANTIS via the Windows terminal-server console follows exactly the same procedure as the initial
installation described above.
Recommendations:
All terminal-client users must have their own user profiles.
Every terminal-client user should have its own home drive with full access rights (e.g. drive H, with
its own Windows directory if applicable).
When the terminal client's MANTIS is started for the first time, copy the following to the user's home
drive:
- An empty MANTIS directory
- The MANTIS.INI of the server
> The MANTIS directory can also be used as TMPDIR.
In the event that the MANTIS directory or MANTIS.INI file is damaged or deleted, a "fresh" MANTIS
directory or MANTIS.INI file must be copied to the user's home drive.
Delete the content of the user's TMPDIR when the active terminal session is ended.
WARNING:
if the directory \MANTIS is used as TMPDIR, the following files must be retained:
- MANTIS.INI
- Expert.dat (input made during expert access is stored for reselection)
- TypUser.dat (user-defined master type)
In this context it is recommended that MANTIS.INI be adapted permanently by addition of the
following parameters:
USERDIR='Home drive':\MANTIS
StaticItems=TMPDIR
