Q1
The non-steroid hormones are the types of hormones which would be the most
appropriate for all sorts of large-scale, fast, but rapidly declining responses. The choice of this
hormone is mainly as a result of the second messenger mechanism associated with its signal
transduction. The mechanism triggers the cascade effect, which considerably amplifies the
impact of the hormone. In comparison to steroid hormones, the impacts of this hormone may
occur within seconds, while those of steroid hormones may take several hours or days. However,
while the full effects of non-steroid take effects fast and in large scale, they also decline at a
rapid rate.
Q2
Prostaglandins are some of the most popular unsaturated carboxylic acids that are
synthesized biochemically from arachidonic acid, a fatty acid (Bettelheim et., 2015). They are
often referred to as tissue hormones in that they coordinate biological functions as hormones do.
A majority of hormones usually travel from their glans to the target organs through the
bloodstream. However, prostaglandins remain in their cells to act as the catalysts for functions
such as cell division, reproductive, and clotting processes. Therefore, they are some sort of
tissues hormones given that they play the role of a chemical messenger, only that they do not

Antidiuretic hormone (ADH) is responsible for maintaining the blood volume, urine
dehydrated, then their blood volume, blood pressure, and tissue water content would decrease

(Ruskin, Rosenbaum & Rampil, 2013).). Accordingly, the level of ADH in the posterior
pituitary gland would increase as this vital hormone is released to return the lost water content in
an individual’s body. It achieves such an objective by increasing the principal cell’s water
permeability in the collecting duct and distal tubule, thereby facilitating the reabsorption of
water.
