Day1

Today is our first day at Cardinal Santos Medical Center and the main agenda on this day is to be
oriented with the hospital’s protocol and familiarize with the area. I am grateful that I have chosen this
hospital for my practicum in my master of science degree in Nursing and the opportunity to experience
variety of Cardiology, Diabetes and Oncology cases that the hospital is known for handling and
managing. We were able to meet the staff of the Nursing Service Office and was toured in all areas of
the hospital. The experience that stand out for me today is visiting the Philippine Gamma Knife Center
which offers non-invasive radiosurgery for different kinds of brain related disease. This facility is unique
among other hospitals making it available exclusively on Cardinal Santos Medical Center only.
