Balghars was the primary campaign started back in 2004.Balghars are pre-schools that
provide a native and educational atmosphere for underprivileged children to study
ahead. The need for Balghar was to ensure that children have the right environment
and nutrition right from scratch for holistic growth and development. There is no
nutrition and a proper environment for children from urban slums who prepare for
school education. The course is designed with the aid of teachers and specialists by
children's psychologists. Teachers are kept informed periodically by refresher training
with the latest trends. These educators often regularly visit the homes of the students
to consider the child's history and monitor the progress of the parents. Parent–Teacher
meetings are also held on a regular basis for continuous reviews and for the resolution
of parent queries. The target group for Balghar effect are children aged between 3 and
5 years of age in the socio-economic segment of society. Since 2004, 2226 Children
have passed through Balghars and after passing they have been enrolled in formal
schools.
Livelihoods

Women @ work is a bold stride towards gender equity. Women @ work is working to
break the gender-based stereotypes and educate women in classes that are considered
untraditional. Although India is emerging as the world ' s fastest-growing economy,
some parts of society still regard women as only suitable for a certain kind of work.
Many professions are innately classified as "males only," and women are thus limited
to their job choices. It is important that we crack these social expectations, to
empower women holistically. Saath's Women@ Work was developed with the aim of
teaching young girls from the 18-25year age group micro-entrepreneurship and non-
conventional business skills. The goal of the program is not only to give young girls
financial support but is also to create a debate and therefore a shift in society
concerning their views and perceptions on the jobs that women should take on.So far,
Saath has trained 173 women under its Women @ Work programme.

Urban resource centre is another campaign by Saath. The principal goal of Urban
Resource Centres (URCs) is to bridge the gap between government organizations
and citizens living in Ahmedabad Slums by providing help in the area’s ties,
certification and government schemes, livelihoods, and financial inclusion. In the
slum areas of Gujarat, URCs crossed 27,000 households. The city of Ahmedabad
and the middle is divided into 3 Urban Resource Centres.

Housing resource centres are a movement against unlawful and illicit expulsions,
relocations, or accommodation, which are less suitable. It is not uncommon today
for thousands to be displaced from slums and lowlands by a construction project.
Often this search for development neglects the displaced who are losing their land,
shelter, and livelihoods. In the last 15 years, there has been a substantial rise in
infrastructure sector in Gujarat, which has led to the mass evictions and
resettlement of residents from the slums. Saath is a strong supporter of neglected
cultures. Via its several projects Saath ensures the proper relocation and
rehabilitation of the displaced communities. This helps the victims of forced
evictions and unnecessary unfair relocation schemes.
Saath has won various awards due to their campaigns and aids they provide to
underprivileged people and society. The Awards which Saath received are: -
Saath has a constant influx of volunteers, interns, students, and fellows. Practices and
voluntary research are available all year round and you can apply applications to the
students at any time by completing your internship form and submitting it to
rdc@saath.org.
Saath has assisted interns with different backgrounds such as management, law,
technology, architecture, social sciences, trade and more. Saath works in a number of
thematic areas, enabling us to provide the interns with a variety of tasks that suit their
interests.

8.1 Innovations
The innovations outline the new initiatives launched by Saath and the future ones that
are in planning and designing mode.
Mehnat Manzil
Mehnat Manzil is the Working Museum which celebrates the lives of those working in
the informal sector, shedding light on the realities of migration, livelihood, and
infrastructure.Mehnat Manzil aims to create an area that expresses this rich and
confusing reality. Where people in the informal domain can hear and celebrate their
own stories, and also learn how life is shaped by wider societal structures and
mechanisms. In contrast, the privileged space in which people are aware of these
issues can understand how crucial the contribution that informal work contributes to
society is.Where they can see the complexity of the issues and spread preformed and
deceptive ideas about their existence.
This museum is an art, artefact, and testimony series. You will be able to hear
countless tales of incredible human good will and energy, motivated acts of collective
action and ground-breaking creativity while walking through the museum.
Women Drivers
The project is designed to train women to provide meaningful jobs. The initiative
identifies and provides instruction in the driving of cars to women from low socio-
economic backgrounds and gives them job opportunities. The program will enable
socially excluded women in society to move from the margins to the mainstream
economy by preparing and placing women drivers as professional drivers.
The women receive enterprise training to start their own businesses if they want to
start after completing their training.
Saath runs Child Friendly Spaces courses for builders and Nirman construction
workers ' training programme. The Integrated Project will combine the elements of the
two projects mentioned above with additional components to provide a complete
solution for migrant workers coming to work at the construction sites. The project
would pick a building site with at least 50-100 staff and prepare them for the
upgrading of their skills and the resulting salary rise. Education classes will only be
run for child workers at sites that provide them with a safe and secure environment
while parents are at work.Education and nutrition support will be provided to children.
Construction staff will also be advised and assisted by the Saath Urban Resource
Centres, regarding health and regulations that should be followed during work. The
owner of the construction site will provide space for the running of the training and
classes, and a nominal training fee will be charged for the workers as well as part of
the project costs.
