Announcement / Corporate November 15, 2010, 16:41 IST

To provide international level MBA in Project

Management and Executive education
courses in Project Management

The International School of Project Management

(ISPM) distinguishes itself as the first business
school dedicated to project management at
international level in India.

Project Management (PM) is the crying need of the hour - whether it is in the
area of infrastructure development, construction industry or for that matter any
industry that needs to develop, execute and complete projects efficiently in
India today. PM requires a different study program from general management.
With India lacking in basic infrastructure and the govt giving various incentives
to attract private sector investments and FDI in infrastructure to sustain the
economic growth rate, managing projects effectively in India is of paramount
importance.to be competitive in a fast changing world . This creates a demand
for well trained project managers who have the right set of expertise,
knowledge and innovative thinking to manage projects in a cost effective
manner.

However the leading institutes of management only teach it as a part of the

general management curriculum. There are no international level degree
courses in project management in India. The ISPM will fill this niche and focus
on programs dedicated to PM.

ISPM is the brainchild of .Upendra Giri and Thomas Bain . Mr Giri is the
President of ISPM and is a Charter Member of TiE. He is also the founder of
PMI North India Chapter and Founder and CEO AstroWix, a leading
organisation dedicated to the discipline of Project Management.Mr Giri has
been awarded with the Eric Jennet Award from the Project Management
Institute, USA and is the first Indian and the youngest to be honored with the
award worldwide.

Thomas Bain is the Dean and Vice-President of ISPM, and has been in charge
of the inception operation since 2007.Mr. Bain is a higher education expert who
has provided the theory for a reform of European higher education known as
the “Bologna Process” in 1990. He has already set up the Budapest Institute for
Graduate International Studies in Hungary (1991-1994). He has also worked
for 5 years as a diplomat to the European Commission in India (2002-2007).

Quality is central to the ISPM philosophy. According to Mr Updendra

Giri,President ,ISPM “ISPM is dedicated to providing the best management
education for managing projects effectively and responsibly, promoting India's
economic development as a result.”

The ISPM has inked partnerships with many international and renowned
academicians who are leaders in the field of Project Management like
Professor Georges Haour of IMD Lausanne, Switzerland which is rated the top
B-School in the world; Professor David Partington and his successor Professor
John Algar in Cranfield School of Management, UK, rated top in the world in
project management; Dominique Jolly, responsible for international relations
and Professor Ivan Coste at SKEMA, France, which has the largest volume of
students in project management in Europe; The Instituto Ortega y Gasset in
Spain- development specialists. ISPM also has on its’ board, Prof. Sanjay Jain
of the George Washington University, who runs one of the oldest MBA in
Project Management in the USA.

The ISPM was formally inaugurated by Dr. Kiran Bedi, IPS, patron and
