4 ❖ Goal of these sessions is not to be an Allama or a Mufti and start
handing out fatwas but to Study Quran

❖ Teacher: Syed Shaukat Zoha Sahab, Dallas, TX, USA

❖ His Teacher:
❖ Sheikh Mohammad Hashim Jan Sarhindi Rahmmatullahi Alaih
(Tando Saindad, Hyderabad, Pakistan)
❖ Sheikh Fazal Ahmad Chishti Baba Rahmmatullahi Alaih
G (Karachi , Pakistan)
O
❖ What’s out there: In the current information/media age, with access to
A plenty of printed tafaseer (exegesis) one could be on his own; If one
L wishes to read a line/ayat in Arabic, it’s literal translation, the
importance of its revelation, review related hadith and move on etc.,
you could very well do that yourself at home today’
❖ Some good resources for that are:
❖ “Ma’ariful Quran” by Mufti Mohammad Shafi (8 Volumes, Urdu)
❖ “Study Quran” by Hossein Nasr (Excellent Commentary, English)
❖ .. And if you like to find out about Orders of Quran, Learn
Prophetic Stories, Know History of Mankind etc., you could do
that with Self-Study as well.
5

❖ 1700s: Shah Wali-Ullah Muhaddis Dehelvi (Rahmmatullahi Alaih), Delhi, India crafted a
course of selected ayaat of the Qur’an for the Study purpose

C ❖ Dars e Nizami: Is a traditional course where you spend few years at an Islamic Institution
O to learn Arabic, Quran, Hadith etc., and will graduate as an Allama etc.
❖ Allama is a title of highest degree (Similar to Shastri in Hinduism, PhD in Western
N Education etc.); You are formally convocated (dastar-bandi) after completion
T
E ❖ 1900s: Dr Israr Ahmed created a course; but he was politico-religious minded person who
wanted to bring about Islamic Revolution. So the course he drafted was with that
X perspective and included a selection of Ayats that laid an emphasis on how we build
T ourselves and how we spread Islam in the world

❖ 2000s: Syed Zoha Sahab looked at demand of current times and devised a course based on
“Mandatory requirements of Islam”
❖ Knowing which, one could be a Good Muslim; handle responsibilities, fulfill
obligations and be successful in front of Allah Subhanahu Taala
6 ❖ Teacher: One does need a teacher to help study.
❖ One of the best teachers in our lives are Parent.
Q ❖ No matter how illiterate, a father is , he does teach something to his children
U ❖ The age difference between a father and a child includes experience; and that experience
R fulfills the “knowledge gap” in the academic qualification
A
N ❖ Format of the class:
❖ Beginning: Introduction of Quran ~ 15 minutes
IN ❖ End: One liner Dua

B ❖ Quran in the Background: Know and understand that as we think and learn about
anything, Quran should be in our back-ground
A
❖ Example: As you go shopping for birthday gift for your kid, you imagine various
C things, you do price matching, check affordability, etc., but because of love for the
K child, because it’s child’s birthday you are also smiling ☺; you are also feeling happy
G from inside.
R ❖ Likewise, with ongoing worldly tasks/requirements; life, family, job, money, etc., in
O the background, you must always have Allah Almighty, Prophet (Peace Be up On
U Him) and The Glorious Quran
N ❖ This is possible only when the Quran gets into our hearts
D
❖ 2 Ways to Read Quran: (as mentioned in Quran)
7 ❖ Iqra Bismi Rabbikallazi khalaq (Qirath/Read) – it’s for the mind; it’s for the day (for regular study)
❖ Waratthilil Qurana tartheela (Tilawat/Recite) – it’s for heart; it’s for the night (for building connection)
❖ Read Quran with tartheel ( like sand grains which can be separated)
R ❖ Qiymul Layla illa qalila (Wake up in the middle of the night; Adhi Raath ko utho; Tahajjud Time) (It’s
E from the heart, No Show-off, It’s for God’s Presence); Recite Quran; Build Relationship with Allah
A ❖ Word Based – Study (Done with Mind)
D ❖ For Folks who know the history; aspects; jurisprudence; can initiate fatwas; know the
intricacies (aiin-ghaain)
❖ This is done with mind; for this one needs memory, need practice, one need to learn
& ❖ When Arch-Angel Gabriel (Peace Be Up On Him) would come to the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Up
On Him) and descend Quran (as mentioned in Quran), he would descend it on Prophet’s Heart
❖ Since the Quran was descended on Prophet’s Heart, not on His Mind; this Quran should
R descend on Muslims Heart (through the Prophet)
E ❖ Another Example:
❖ A person worked hard and collected coins (nickel, dime etc.) in a bag;
C ❖ Then, there's another person, who has been handed over a bag full of money (to spend there from
I as he wishes). He does not have a count of dimes, nickels or how much money is in that bag – but
he has been handed that bag to pull out the money as he wishes
T ❖ Likewise, when you ask someone (on whose Heart, the Quran is descended), something from
E Qur'an, He will think for few minutes and response , as, when he needs something from (Allah &
the Messenger), he just thinks; and the answers come out automatically)..he say’s...My Lord say’s
this…
❖ But you ask someone (on whose Mind, the Quran is descended), he will straightaway start quoting
chapter # / ayah # , references etc. It’s because he has been prepared for that
8
❖ The person (who has Quran in his heart), when he needs something from (Allah & the
Messenger), he just thinks; and the answers come out of heart ( automatically)..My Lord
M say’s this…
I
❖ Example: One of Zoha Sahab’s Elders use to teach Hadith. He lost eye-sight with age.
N People around him got curious ; he can’t see anything and how is he lecturing? And
D they started testing him by swapping the hadiths - and he would correct them. He
would just listen to the Hadith and say’ if it’s right or wrong
Vs ❖ People got more curious and asked him’ You don’t read anymore but how are
you able to correct them? He said’ I don’t even remember so many hadith, but as
I get asked for clarification by someone, I just put my head down, towards my
H heart, and if :
E ❖ I see Prophet (Peace Be Up On Him) smiling face – I say hadith is right!
❖ I see Prophet (Peace Be Up On Him) unhappy face - I say hadith is wrong!
A
R ❖ This is “relationship (nisbath)” with Quran and “relationship (nisbath)” with Prophet;
T This is “connection” with The Quran, The Prophet and The Lord

❖ Every Muslim has not been asked to be an Aalim, Jurist, Mufti,

❖ But, it’s expected of Every Muslim to build that relationship; and it could be any
level of relationship
9
❖ Every Muslim; big, small, educated, illiterate etc. can and must build that bond
❖ Note: Bond of an illiterate person with His Lord & Prophet & Quran could be much
B stronger than educated person (who may have memorized multiple surah/ayats from
U Quran etc.) – So one should not underestimate anyone.
I ❖ Classic example is of Hazrath Bilal (Razi Allahu Taala Anhu); he could not pronounce
L (shiin); he did not know tajweed. (People even objected, but our Prophet said’ Bilal (RA) will
D continue calling Adhan because it’s pleasant. Our deen has so many considerations: If Adhan was
called for by someone who was perfect, then it would have been a tough requirement for us all; think
A of it as a consideration for us Non-Arabs who cannot properly pronounce (aiin-ghaain etc.)

C
❖ Tajweed and pronunciation is worldly (zahiri) aspect; but the hidden (bathini) aspect of Quran is
O
connection with the Lord (taaluq-billah) & connection with the Prophet (taaluq-birrasul) &
N
connection with the Quran (taaluq-bilquran)
N
E
❖ Just like everything has zahir & bathin, Quran also has zahir & bathin
C
❖ Just like everything has zahir & bathin, our connection with Allah, Prophet & Quran also has
T
zahir & bathin aspect
I
O
❖ In these sessions; we will try and build that “connection” with Quran;
N
❖ In order to establish that connection, we need some techniques, and we are lucky to have
been handed the techniques devised by our elders like Pir Hashim Jan Sirhindi (RA); May
Allah raise his ranks

N ❖ Personal Learning Experience:
A ❖ If asked ’ what Zoha Sahab learnt from his Sheikh in the years he spent in his
L company; he can hardly recall 1~ 2 ayats., which may already have been part of
one of his speeches over there; only now, at this age, he realizes what he has learnt
E
X ❖ Then he studied Quran from Fazal Ahmed Chishti (Rahmatullahi Alaih) who
P mentored him (an artistic/poetic personality) to be hard working student
E ❖ Moral: Must work hard to achieve something valuable
R
❖ If his students are willing to work hard; he is willing to share all what he learnt

Own a (personal) copy of the Quran
T
A
Own a copy of the Quran: Keep it as a personal
K copy / Read only from it / Helps build
All Companions of Prophet Mohammad (Peace
photographic memory / Makes it easier to
E memorize / your eyes start identifying where
Be Upon Him) are said to have had their own
copies of the Quran, with notes, for personal use
something is in Quran (what page/side etc.) / Any
translation is fine
O
W
Having a personal hard copy (not digital*)
N creates an unbreakable bond & you feel that you
Reading, Highlighting and Re-Reading helps in
E have possession of something valuable / prized
possession / life-search guide / ready referral for
better understanding

R everything

S
H
• Same digital device (smartphone/tablet) is also being used for watching worldly things – it’s not appropriate
I • We go crazy over owning/possessing worldly things like smartphones/new gadgets that will not help much
P • Dr Mazhar Baqa (Teacher) recommended owning 2 copies (small & big but same lay-out) use small size
while young to build photographic memory; and big size when you grow old ( another pocket size could be
handy for traveling)

13 ❖ Translation:
❖ Pick-up any translation you are inclined towards (Ahmed Raza Khan, Tadabbur-e-Quran ,
or whatever comforts you) or else your mind will waver; do not stress over it because as
we learn the reading technique, translation will be redundant.
T ❖ Example: A little child learns to say “good” but does not know what it means & says
R ❖ “very good” when he needs to stress on it (nobody taught him what good & very good
means); his understanding of “very” is “very” & “good” is “good”; there’s no translation
A in his mind; when asked what is “very” he might use gesture as he does not have a
N “second word from a borrowed language” to explain “very” ;
S ❖ Likewise, as we learn to understand Quranic Words as Quranic Words, we will not need
translation; it does take some hard work.
L ❖ We take advantage from a “second language”
A ❖ Translation binds your thoughts
T ❖ Arabic Language can not be easily translated in other language
❖ Each word translated would end up being 5 lines; so, it’s wise to understand the
I word it-self
O ❖ Arabic, unlike English is a Beautiful Language
N ❖ Compare English with Arabic:
❖ In English, one would say’ He “come” “came” “go” “gone” etc., it’s understood
that “come” lead to “came” & “go” lead to “gone”, but not every word has
similar logic (being produced from same word)… where as in Arabic, word is
❖ based on root-word concept
14
❖ Root Word:
❖ Learning just one root-word in Arabic helps with many forms of a given word
❖ Reading Arabic Dictionary is a challenge in itself; in fact not everybody can
❖ Example: If you want to look up the word “Mustaqeem” in dictionary, you would try
and break it down to “mim” “seen” “thay” “qaf” “yay” “mim” but you wouldn't find it
R there till end of time
O ❖ Qaum & Mustaqeem are from same root-word (qaaf, wow, yay); iqama, muqam, etc. also come
from same root-word.
O ❖ Understanding the root letter just once would help you automatically know what’s the
T meaning of the next word
❖ Example: “Hamd” = Allah’s Praise (hay, mim, daal); now when you say’ Muhammad’ ,
you at least get e feeling that it has some connection with “Hamd”
W ❖ Example: “Sajid”, “Masjid”, “Sajdah” ( when you say Sajid’ you do get a feeling that it
O has some connection with Sajdah or Masjid etc. )
R ❖ Similarly, each word has 3-5 letters ; from among them, you just need to understand
the top most 3 letter word (root-word)
D ❖ One needs an intention and some patience to learn it. It’s easy!

❖ Over-All Needs for Learning:

❖ Devotion; Punctuality; Sincerity;
❖ Keep in mind that we are not here to become Aalim e deen - We are studying to get Quran
in to our hearts & to build connection with Quran
15
❖ Zoha Sahab’ Sheikh, Chisthi Baba’ would say’ Quran is something that you hold once –
And it won’t leave you
R
E ❖ It’s a matter of making an effort once; things start happening automatically. Allah Taala
L guarantees it in Quran
A
T ❖ Side Note on Scheduling/Making time for Learning Quran, Dars-e-Quran sessions: 5 Days
E a week, we manage hectic schedules (sleep late; wake up early) for a job/to earn a living…
once in couple of weeks, can’t we get up early for the life-giver?
❖ “Earning” a livelihood is only required till we are “alive”; after that what?
&
❖ So once every-often, schedule time for “Learning” AS WELL

N ❖ Intent of these sessions is not to learn all 114 chapters of the Quran but to learn how to
A “navigate” the Quran; how to build “relation” with Quran
V ❖ Example: If you are in any life-situation, you should be able to relate back to Quran
I and confirm…Oh yes, it’s mentioned in Quran.
G ❖ Example: If something is going through your mind… and you are flipping through
A the Quran; and you find what you intended: automatically. In other words, you are
T able to (in background memory) find/identify/locate what you intended to, in Quran..
❖ You don’t necessarily have to be Hafiz e Quran; Aalim; Mufti etc. to build that
E
relation
16

❖ Learning Aids/Recommendations:
❖ Listen more, write less; avoid distraction
❖ Recording would be made available via the secure site
❖ Make an effort; go back to the recording consistently and review; by self & with family;
L Start listening and learning little by little; Nawalli Ma’tawalla ( We will help you’ in the
E direction you proceed’)
A ❖ Lying on a couch doing nothing or chilling in Star-bucks or McDonalds talking about
R Islam? It doesn’t work that way.
N ❖ There will be Re-cap of what was learnt in last session
I ❖ Zoha Sahab would be available – for questions
N ❖ Everything needs a protocol – And for us, it STARTS with having a personal copy of Quran
G ❖ Listening carefully is important
❖ You don’t necessarily have to understand everything; you just need to embrace Quran; bring it
close to your heart
A ❖ As He learnt from His Sheikh: Don’t talk about anything that you have studied, (Ulema
I of today doubt it as they believe studying is bottom-line of talking) Talk about what you have
D understood
S ❖ Quran Says: Sa’nukhrika La Yunsa – Aur Jab hum tumhay padhayengay, tho tum bhul-
ogay nahi – And when we teach you, you’ll not forget)
❖ Requirement: Always be in Wudu, Always be in a condition in which you can imagine,
read and talk about Quran all the time

❖ Every Session, Make sure to jot down the Ayat Numbers you have studied so you can refer back to it at
H home. Review those a couple of times a week for 15 minutes at least (Homework)
I
❖ Highlight specific ayats (with a marker) directly on the Quran
L ❖ When you do Tilawat, Qirath, and see that upcoming ayat is highlighted - you will know that you have
I studied it; and this will remind you of what you have learnt about that ayat
G ❖ You’ll remember it automatically, you don’t have to memorize the word-meanings
❖ This way you’ll learn the full meaning of the ayat; Gradually, after reviewing it few times, in a few
H months you’ll start translating it (hint: a lot of ayats in Quran are repetitive)
T

/
❖ Quranic Ayats are written in Numbers ❖ Quranic Sign – Ruku
❖ Numbering Arabic Vs Urdu
I
D
E
N
T
I
F
Y
19 ❖ Nothing comes ahead of Allah’s Name, That's why in Arabic and Urdu you see Ayat Number is
mentioned at the end i.e., after Ayat in Quran
A
❖ So write Ayat Number like in Urdu…at the end.
L
L
A Similarly, When we read, we start with:
H ❖ Bismillah Hir Rahman Nir Rahim… (which should be translated as): *Allah* kay naam say’ shuru
versus Shuru Allah kay naam say’
َّ ‫َّ ْ م‬
IN ALLAH, IN THE NAME OF ‫ح ِا ِن الر ِْ ْ ِم‬‫ِب ْس ِم هّٰللا ِالر‬
❖ There is a reason why Bism is written in a certain way in Arabic:
T ❖ .. “Ba-Ism Allah” (So adding a “Ba” created a compound word “Bismillah”)
H
E

N ❖ ..And it means (Allah Kay Naam Kay Saath) together with the name of Allah
A
❖ We say’ *Auz billahi minash shaitan nirrajiim* before *Bismillah hirrahman nir rahim*
M
E ❖ It isn't in Quran but we read it verbally before Bismillah. Why?
❖ The following Ayats have an explanation for that:
َّ َّ ْ ْ َّ َّ ‫َّ َّ َّ َّ ْ َّ ْ ُ ْ م‬
OF َّ
❖ ‫ِم الش ْي مط ِا ِن الر ِج ْ ِم‬ِ ِ ‫اس َّت ِعذ ِبهلل‬ ‫ف ِاذا قرات القران ف‬ (An-Nahl , 16:98)

So, when you recite the Qur'an, seek the protection of Allah against Satan, the accursed.
20 ❖ The effort we are making “here” to learn will be compensated in the “here-after”
D ❖ If we seek that here, then what would you get there?
E ❖ We are doing all this for God’s Pleasure – And, He will make it known on the day of
F judgement, if He is pleased with us ?
❖ We should not judge if God’s pleased with us in this world with worldly assets we have
I
amassed
N ❖ Even Kuffar (Infidels) have plenty to boost about in this world (In fact they have more; &
I Quran explains the reason why)
T ❖ So, it’s (worldly belongings; big mansions, luxury cars, beautiful wive(s) etc.) not a good
I scale to judge a successful life
O ❖ Following Ayat from Surah Al-Ahzaab 33:71 defines What “Success” is
N
❖ Wamain Yutiullaha Rasulahu Faqad Faza Fauzan Azeema

R
E ❖ It isn't in Quran but we have been asked to read it
F “verbally” before Bismillah.
U ❖ Why don’t they print/write it in Quran?
❖ This is Glorious Quran’s biggest proof of
G legitimacy (Not a single letter has been altered

‫ف ِاذا قرات القران فاست ِعذ ِبهلل ِ ِِم الشيط ِا ِن الر ِج ِم‬
S N
So, when you recite the Qur'an, seek the protection of Allah against Satan, the accursed. A
E
E H
❖ Allah is saying’ when you recite the Quran; seek refuge in Allah from outcast Satan (You start A
K building a relationship with Quran, right away as you notice in this ayat that there’s an ask from L
Allah Subhanahu Taala…and we must respond) –
R ❖ Example: You tell someone to get a glass of water for you; and that person (instead of bringing #
E the water) just keeps on repeating your request ‘ … He is saying’ get a glass of water.. He is 16:98
F saying’ get a glass of water – which is not the right way to respond -

U ❖ Or, he will just get-up and go get the water (without saying anything); even if he
wanted to say something, he would say’ I will go get the water
G
❖ So, essentially you “answer” instead of just repeating the ask (this is how you build
E relationship with Quran)
❖ In the context of the above ayat: When Allah is saying’ when you recite the Quran, seek
IN refuge in God from Satan (Shaitan).. The person reading it would actually respond’ I
Seek refuge in Allah from the outcast Satan (*Auz billa himinash shaitan nirrajiim*)
A ❖ The reason “Auz billa himinash shaitan nirrajiim” is not included / printed in Quran is because it
L is not an ayat by itself… it’s actually human being’s answer/response to Allah Subhanahu Taala’s
L ask
A ❖ See how careful one has to be?
H
23 ❖ In Surah Nahal (Bee), Allah Taala is showing Human Beings (who think big about themselves) to learn a lesson from a small
bee; that, If Allah wills, what she can produce (pure honey) and a human being cannot.
❖ It’s a serious matter to have a system built in to a small fly that can produce sweet honey – If Allah Taala can make that
possible; (If He wills),
F
❖ Can’t He make Human Being His Caliph (Qalifa)?
A ❖ Isn’t it possible that Human Being becomes His (Allah’s) Hands, Legs, Eyes, Ears etc. (Wali-Allah). There’s Hadith to back
I that up
T ❖ So, Everything rolls back to Allah Taala; you just need “faith” and that comes with relationship you build with Allah Taala
❖ Since we haven't seen Allah Taala; and are born 1400 years after the Holy Prophet – The only thing (as human-beings),
H (for our contentment), what we are relying on, that we have faith in is “Quran”
❖ If we leave this Quran (also), then we are at Allah’s Mercy, our fate is sealed
AN
& ❖ We even go to visit Kaabatullah’ , Prophet’s Roza, but we don’t feel that connection; our legs don’t shake, nothing
happens inside of us. It’s because we don’t know the history about those places. And, for those who know, they sure N
witness things most of us don’t A
R ❖ A recent example of a person visiting Roza e Rasool and imagining that Prophet’ would walk here, Prophet’
E would do things this way; right then, a person came and rolled out a dastar’quan and offered him food to eat. H
L When asked who is he? He said’ Eat my son’, you are loving Allah’s Messenger, Allah’s Messenger is loving you A
back. He was appreciated along with his family L
A ❖ … so you have to build your relation with…
T –
I ❖ First thing to build relationship with Quran. Have your own copy of Quran, Make it a part of yourself all the times, doing
regular routines etc.
O
❖ Make sure to have a Printed Quran not a Digital one
N ❖ Having Quran in a phone? Phone is just a gadget that has multiple other things, it’s certainly not recommended to rely
S on Quran in digital form (via an app etc.)
H ❖ Holding an actual Quran is of more sanctity (taqaddus) than a smart phone; you can kiss it and say’ Subhan ’Allah
whilst reading.
I ❖ When you find yourself in a situation, wanting to show your love to Allah Subhanahu Taala; (unlike the smartphone,)
P you would not hesitate to pick up the Quran and kiss-it
❖ Smart Phone/Digital Version of Quran is something you use for emergency, while traveling etc., it cannot be your
Quran, it cannot replace your own Quran; it’s just a gadget you use as needed

R have no knowledge of
E ❖ The Ayat teaches us Adab/Respect of sitting in front of Allah – that
❖ If you don’t know something’ you better keep quiet
F ❖ And, if you Adopt Silence; Almighty will “Forgive” you; He will have “Mercy” on you; He will let you “Know” what it is. Don’t
U worry
❖ It’s the same reason when one would visit “Elders of Religion” (Buzurg-anay Deen), you would find them quite (because they
G didn’t know); but some visitors would create a commotion and say’ you don’t know anything, you are out-of-date etc.); and
E that results in you being at loss
❖ Example: When Zoha Sahab visited his Sheikh (Pir Hashim Jaan RA) once, he was asked not to leave and he obliged; Sheikh
Sahab went inside while he waited outside in the room for about 20 minutes. Then, Sheikh Sahab’s wife let him in, and as he
IN went inside, he found Sheikh Sahab lying on a bed in verandah. He was offered a chair by the bed-side; he sat there quiet for
over an hour as Sheikh Sahab was quiet as well. Because he didn’t know, he didn’t feel the need to “ask” why he was called.
❖ This is what Quran is teaching us; The Adab/Respect of sitting in front of Allah; sitting in front of teacher/elders; sitting in
A front of parents
L ❖ If you want to get something from your elder, keep your mouth “shut” (you know what you already know; when the elder speaks’
he will say something that you don’t know). So, if you want to know what they know, you better keep quite; even if he has said
L something that you already knew, you are not the looser! It’s revision for you.
A ❖ People don’t become successful just like that; Likes of Imam Ghazali were not born just like that
H ❖ Seek Refuge (like when you hide in a trench when bombing happens) from saying’ asking’ for such a thing – that I don’t
know

E ❖ This Ayat is from story of Yousuf Alaihi Salam, when Zulaiqa wanted to catch him, he said this’
F ❖ Pay attention to the word “Auz” ; Maz ’Allah, Nauz’ Billah are also made from Auz; Similarly, last two
Surah’s from Quran “Qul Auz Bi-Rabbinnas” “Qul Auz Bi-Rabbilfalaq” are called “Mauzatain” ; Likewise,
U Saying Auz Billah is called “Tawwuz”
G ❖ Insha-Allah down the road we will learn to relate these words; and how these words are formed;
E learning one root-word could help identify multiple others
❖ With this methodology you don’t necessarily have to use your memory; we would want to get rid of
memory challenge and add feeling instead; like, when I say’ *Auz billa himinash shaitan nirrajiim* (I
IN Seek refuge in Allah from the outcast Satan ), I should find myself in-front of Allah! (rather than
getting in to word-meaning matter)
A ❖ If we read Quran with mind-set that we are a very knowledgeable person; we are being highly
L respected in society (it’s also needed, but for institutions etc., otherwise institutions would close-down);
if we just want to be an Aalim, to give fatwas’ etc., we could make money, but would loose out on
L heartiness
A ❖ As a prominent poet said’
H ❖ Alfaz o tashreeh ki gambheer may na jaye dost; Is-say dhan tho badhtha hai par man ka ziya hotha hai
26

❖ How to build relation with Quran?

B ❖ When I say’ Auz billa himinash shaitan nirrajiim (it should come to my mind that’ Allah Taala has
U ordered me that when reading Quran, read Auz billa himinash shaitan nirrajiim; that I should seek
refuge from asking something that I do not know; that My Allah taught me, when I am worried, I
I should say’ Maz’Allah; My Allah gave me two Surah’s (Falaq & Nas) reading which I get under His
L Protection;
❖ When you say’ Auz billa himinash shaitan nirrajiim, you enter in to castle of Allah Subhanahu Taala and
D there is no reason why Shaitan would lead you astray

❖ Pay attention to specific words from the Ayat’s we are reading; like the word “Auz” we read today and its
R various forms. Likewise, every time we will focus on few words and that will Insha Allah help us build
E vocabulary of important words over time
L ❖ Zoha Sahab will share some good on-line tools that would help with the Quranic Study
A ❖ Your own Quran should be in front of you (always) even while using on-line tools
❖ You’ll not detach from your own copy of Quran any-time
T ❖ Even as you use other tools and resources, you will mark/highlight your own copy; you have to “build
I your own Quran” in that sense;
❖ You should take Ownership: This is my Quran; I read from it; I need to build “Relation” with it
O ❖ If we are not able to build relation with Quran – all efforts will be in vain
