Literary review

Social media has been involved in the lives of many since the dawn of its birth. People

have been worrying about social media for a long time, they are worried that it's taking away all

the time we used to have when we would have face to face conversations. Technology is ruining

all the time that we are supposed to be spending with our families and friends. Kids/teens cant

even go ten minutes without getting on their phones and getting on social media platforms.

Social Media has been on the rise for quite some time. Many tech and media giants have

paved the way for many users and programmers alike to experience the fast growing world of

social media. Facebook is the number one social media app in the world, there are over 2.4

billion users. There are almost 7.7 billion people in the world and almost half of us are online.

Media has changed the whole world, we have found new ways to find our partners and new ways

to learn important things from the news. For example tiktok started in september of 2016 and by

mid-2018 it had reached half a billion users. Facebook has beaten all social media for over a

decade, even though five other things have over half a billion users.

Everyone knows that newspapers and or even watching the news aren't used as much as

they used to be. Nowadays people just get on facebook or twitter to check the sports or news.

According to a research project, about 55% of adults either use media sometimes or often, which
is 8% more than the past year. Social media is just part of everyone's everyday life. Some people

post things about thighs or say things that they shouldn't post, they are posts that should be

reported. And the news is starting to and will eventually become a full part of the social media

world.

At first glance, social media is just a big place where people can chat, it's a faster way to

look things up, it's a faster way to look at your textbook work. It's an updated fast way to be able

to communicate as well as a way to connect to others around the world in seconds. Big data in

social media is only growing and sooner rather than later it will be the biggest part of “Big

Data.”

Not only is social media booming and growing rapidly in the United States, but all

around the world as well. If you live in the US you wouldn't think anything different than that we

all use facebook and twitter. Facebook dominates all others over the globe. Kids like to use

social media to talk about other people or even their teachers. There is a site that is called V

Kontakte. At first it was opened to college students and now there are over 100 million users. It

goes to show how around the world social media is scaling faster than we could have ever

imagined.
