to the front. Next came Eugen Bussmann, but he
proved a constant source of annoyance to Hitler
and at Linge’s suggestion was transferred to the SS-
Führerbegleitkommando, Hitler’s bodyguard. RAD = Reichs
Arbeits Dienst, the six-month period of compulsory
communal work service. In Greek mythology Antaios
 (Antaeus), son of Poseidon and the Earth goddess Gaia,
was a wrestler who drew his invincible strength from
