Business Systems Analyst

About the role

Change Management (CAB) / Project Management / Delivery

 Build and maintain a trusted relationship with our internal customers having a good
understanding of business issues and challenges.
 Working with the business to identify system enhancements that enable our business to
meet their growth / vision goals while challenging requests to ensure they meet business need
and add value.
 Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts,
convert high-level information into details, and distinguish user requests from the underlying
true needs & priorities.
 Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to
analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as
needed: (functional/business requirements document, supporting mapping documents, use
cases).
 Support the CSM in capturing complex business requirements and define corresponding
solutions working closely with the business community always considering end-to-end
business processes and solutions integration across global work streams.
 Support the CAB; assist the business in the development of the business case and
support CAB presentation for approval.
 Ensure functional requirements are signed off by all IT and Business key stakeholders
 Provide context of changes to vendor and/or development team so that they can be
implemented; collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical
vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
 In partnership with Testing Services, define and execute the test cases, ensuring the
delivery of high quality work.
 Ensure Release Notes are business friendly and properly communicate the change.
 In partnership with Release Management, ensure business sign off has been obtained.
 Support training team and production support pre and post go-live.

 
Incident and Problem Management

 Review incidents in line with the SLA and ensure that adequate information has been
provided and the correct severity / priority is set. 
 For all problem tickets, ensure a ticket is raised in the appropriate vendor problem
management system.
 Investigate all incidents raised, document and log occurrences, and coordinate the
problem resolution, testing, and sign-off.
 Participate in coordination and prioritization meetings with Service Management, the
Client Service Manager and vendor to establish priority and review status of defects,
maintenance and change requests.
 Work with the Client Service Manager to address all high issues as efficiently as
possible.
 Work closely with the Client Service Analyst to ensure that all solutions are validated
across the full value chain.

 
Quality Management

 Work with the Client Service Manager and SwissRe Testing Services to ensure that for
all incidents and enhancements test cases are either created or modified.
 Perform smoke testing following any system releases or infrastructure modifications. 
 Perform testing of incidents and enhancements and provide feedback on the test results
to the Client Service Manager and SwissRe Testing Services
 Ensure all requirements for incidents and enhancement are fully captured / satisfied and
evidenced by the testing results

 
Customer Relationship and Communication

 Ensure transparency and consensus by continuous communication and active


expectations management with all stakeholders
 Provide information to the Client Service Manager for their monthly meetings with their
business stakeholders and participate in the meetings where required.

 
 

About the team

In this position, you are responsible for business systems analysis and requirements gathering, technical
solution specification and business system design. The position holder has a focus on supporting change
/ project requests.  Working closely with the Client Service Manager (CSM) and other solution
integration partners (i.e., admin system, workflow, costing integration, partner integration, and
reporting), responsibility includes the gathering of platform related analytical information, creation of
detailed business requirements, functional specifications and development and execution of test cases.
