Welcome! We are so glad you've joined us for today’s Awesome Girls event, “Engineer Your World.”

Today’s event will be a special Show-and-Tell with Sylvia Acevedo, CEO of Girl Scouts of the USA, and
Mary Barra, Chairman and CEO of General Motors, and hosted by Robin Roberts, co-anchor of Good
Morning America.

We will get started at 2:00pm eastern. In the meantime, check out the content on the other tabs and
learn more about the new Automotive Engineering badges for Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors. You can
also download the handout under Event Resources (below the question box).

To get started with automotive engineering, check out the free activity from the first badge of the three-
badge series, Automotive Design, for your level on Girl Scouts at Home:

• Brownie Automotive Design Badge Activity: Create A Vehicle To Help Animals Or Your Favorite

ANYTIME: Awesome Girls: Create the Future with Automotive Design for girls in grades K-5
This is the first in a series of three events for girls in grades K-5 that will help bring the new Girl Scouts
Automotive Engineering badges to life. In this event, you’ll hear from a General Motors car designer
about how she helps take a new car idea from brainstorm to reality and find out how you can earn the
Automotive Design badge.

THURSDAY: Awesome Girls: Get in Gear with Automotive Engineering for girls in grades K-5
This is the second in a series of three events for girls in grades K-5 that will help bring the new Girl
Scouts Automotive Engineering badges to life. In this event, you’ll hear from an automotive engineer
who works at General Motors. She’ll share how she builds upon the work of the designers to develop
and test a machine that’s safe and ready for manufacturing. You’ll also find out how you can earn the
new Automotive Engineering badge.

FRIDAY: Awesome Girls: Take the Wheel with Automotive Manufacturing for girls in grades K-5
This is the third and final in the series of three events for girls in grades K-5 celebrating the new Girl
Scouts Automotive Engineering badges. In this event, you’ll hear from a manufacturing engineer at
General Motors. She’ll tell you how she organizes and manages all of the machine and people power
that goes into making a car ready for the road. You’ll also find out how you can earn the new
Automotive Manufacturing badge.
