The United Nations Conference on
Trade and Development (UNCTAD)
produces three unique annual reports
on iron ore:
• The Iron Ore Market
• Iron Ore Statistics
• Statistical update
(electronic form only)
The reports provide the only global
up to date, accurate and
comprehensive information on
developments in the world market
for iron ore, including both
statistical data and analyses. They
are indispensable to professionals
interested in the iron ore market,
whether as producers, purchasers,
shipping agents, suppliers of goods
or services to the industry, analysts
or consultants.
Since 2002, the reports have been
produced in cooperation with the
Raw Materials Group of Sweden,
allowing an improved coverage of
corporate developments.
The cost of producing the reports is
covered through contributions by
several Governments (Brazil,
Canada, Sweden, the United States
of America) to the UNCTAD Iron
Ore Trust Fund, and by sales of
publications.
The Iron Ore Market
The review on iron ore market
developments (120 pages) is
published in May-June every year.
It is recognized as the most
authoritative source of information
on the iron ore market available.
The report contains detailed
reviews and data on iron ore
production, trade, freight rates and
prices, as well as an outlook for the
eighteen months ahead.

The information used for the report
comes from UNCTAD and Raw
Materials Group databases,
complemented by information from
a worldwide network of
correspondents in Governments
and industry and public sources
such as trade journals.
