Samsung Research Institute Noida - Software Development Intern         May 2019 - July 2019
Mentored by Shubham Jain, Staff Engineer
Worked on Environmental Sound Classification. Extracted spectral features for a given WAV
file using various signal processing techniques including Fourier Transform and Discrete
Cosine Transform.
Used the extracted features for subsequent classification of source of sound into one of pre-
defined ten classes using Deep Neural Networks.
Summer Research Intern at Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru        May 2018 - July 2018 
Dr Sriram Ganapathy, LEAP Lab, Dept. of EEE.
Trained the baseline Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) setup for The 5th CHiME Speech
Separation and Recognition Challenge using Kaldi toolkit. Used online tools for noise reduction
and dereverberation of the speech files of the challenge.
Implemented different Denoising Autoencoder architectures for denoising the speech files of
the challenge (with varying strategies of training) using Pytorch.

Projects
Text Detection and Recognition                                                                                  Oct 2017 - Nov 2017

Worked on text detection and recognition module for natural scene images using image
processing techniques for region-proposal and Convolutional Neural Network for identifying the
regions containing text.                                                      
Humanoid Robot                                                                                                        Aug 2017 - March 2018
Robotics Club, IIT Guwahati                                                                                                                               
Developed a face keypoint detection module for the humanoid robot based on Convolutional
Neural Networks using Keras framework. Worked on text detection and recognition module for
the humanoid robot.
Hand Posture Recognition                                                                                                             Nov 2017  
Developed a CNN model to classify hand posture images into one of five pre-defined postures.
Tried various CNN  architectures with the best performing one being a VGG network with
ImageNet weights finetuned on Marcel dataset.
